Life & Work with Eriana Price of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eriana Price.

Eriana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
ErianasCreations had always been a plan, but it didn’t officially become one until I was 16 or 17. I’ve always been a creative person who enjoyed taking art classes every chance I got throughout high school. Reaching outside of that, I started crafting and decorating different objects.

It all started with decorating my first pair of headphones for an art project. I bedazzled them and added charms to every inch of my headphones, and I was so happy with the outcome. So, I kept creating.

From that, I gained so much joy and found a creative outlet. Creating not only gave me a way to express myself, but it also helped me come out of my shy shell a little bit. People would often stop me and ask questions about things I was wearing, like my shoes, headbands, hair clips, or other accessories. I would get comments like, “Oh my goodness, your shoes are so cute!” or “Your headbands are so pretty!” and I would excitedly tell them, “I made them!” Those conversations helped me interact with people more and build connections through my creativity.

My friends have also played a huge role in supporting and encouraging my business. Many of them wear accessories I’ve made, and whenever someone compliments them, they’ll proudly tell people that I made them. Having that kind of support has meant so much to me and has encouraged me to keep creating.

I eventually turned that passion into my own business, where I customize just about anything. Whatever I can find, I customize it. I’m always thinking, “How can I make this different?” or “What can I add to this?” and that mindset continues to inspire everything I create.

Now, there’s not a day that goes by where my hair isn’t decorated in some form, whether that’s with a custom hair clip, a headband, or another accessory I’ve made. Creativity has become a part of who I am and something I incorporate into my everyday life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With owning a business, it’s definitely not a constant smooth road. I struggle with selling my items and attracting potential customers, but even with that struggle, I still continue creating because I started this for me, and now I want to share my creations with the world.

Another challenge has been finding the right materials to use. A lot of it is trial and error, but that’s a part of learning and growing as a creator. Not every idea works out the way I imagined, but each mistake teaches me something new.

However long it takes for sales to happen, I will be okay with that because I know it will all happen in God’s timing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do everything. I say there’s no limit to what I can customize or create. If I see something that I want to do or jazz up a bit, I’ll do it. If I need to watch a tutorial first, then that’s what I’ll do!

I specialize in bedazzling objects and making items extra special to match someone’s personality. It’s in the name, I’m known for being creative, and I’m proud of that. I’m also proud of how much effort and time I put into each item.

What sets me apart from others is the amount of effort I put in and the passion behind every creation.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I’ve learned to never give up and to take advice from people who have been where I am. I’ve also learned how to correctly go about my business from the advice I’ve received.
