Life & Work with Haley Haines

Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Haines.

Hi Haley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started doing hair in Houston, Texas about 5 years ago. I had a very successful business at the age of only 21 and it was amazing. During Covid, I decided to just go for it and move to Nashville and start completely over! My boyfriend was living there and I would take clients when I would visit on the weekends, then once I decided to move fully, I started to book clients before I even had a place to work.

I knew I needed to do whatever I could to make the move work for me. I reached out to so many people to come and get their hair done for free to be able to spread the word about my business since I was so new to town. Now here I am only 2 years later, getting my own salon space right on Music row and having some girls rent from me! Nashville has been the biggest blessing and I can’t wait for what the future has for me.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely NOT been a smooth road. There were many many nights crying wondering why I did this and if I just ruined everything by picking up and leaving what I had in Houston.

Many times my bank account would go negative trying to make this dream happen, many times wanting to just give up and move back to my family, and just rough times in general. It is a tough city to find a way to stick out from everyone else, but you just have to stay true to yourself and do what you do best.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a hairstylist/salon owner that specializes in all things blonding and extensions! I am so proud of making people feel their absolute best when they leave my salon. I try to be different from others but make my salon space feel like a home and place you would just want to hang out and talk about anything.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I definitely had so many supporters along the way. I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without my parents who have believed in me since day one. Also, my boyfriend who stands by my side through thick and thin has for sure seen each side of this journey, highs, and lows.

Then my hometown best friend who also lives in Nashville. They have each played a big part in my life and I can’t be more grateful that I have them with me.
