Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Jones.
Hi Jacob, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started tattooing in 2010 in a Nashville TN.
I fell in love with the industry and tattooing is the funnest job in the world in my opinion.
I’ve had the opportunity of working at some incredible tattoo shops during my career. In 2015 I joined Hart and Huntington owned by Carey Hart at both Universal Studios Orlando and Nashville TN locations.
That was a huge opportunity because I put me in the same room with some of the best tattoo artists in the U.S.
I worked with them for a few years and later had the opportunity of working with the Ink Masters shop Branded also located in Nashville. Working beside Bubba Irwin and DJ Tambe was an amazing experience and changed the game for me. Watching artists with that much talent opened my eyes and taught me new techniques to better my own art.
Aim high tattoos began 2020 shortly after Covid lockdown. It was extremely difficult due to health risks but, the business was booming and I had to keep going even though the world had no idea what to expect from that experience.
2023 of March Aim High was shutdown due to a fire that destroyed majority of the property. Six months later I was able to move back into my unit on Woodland Street. Honestly, everything happens for a reason because after that my business tripled in new client and everything has been incredible and I’ve now owned my own business for 5 years.
Thank you for supporting my work.
Grateful to be apart of the Nashville Community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Covid was a rough time obviously not for just myself but the entire world but, I utilized that time to brainstorm and think positive. That’s when I came up with the idea to open my own shop.
I also had to deal with the fire in 2023 on Woodland Street . I put everything into opening my own business and then one day it’s all taken from you. Grateful no one was harmed but, the situation was very difficult to deal with. The bright side of that situation was, after the landlord rebuilt he welcomed me back and everything has been amazing.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Professional Tattoo Artist
I love any style of tattooing except for Trash polka. Haha, it’s kinda in the name and I don’t want to do it.
I’m mostly known for Realism and Neo Traditional tattooing.
I honestly put my soul into every tattoo I do and that makes me proud of every single one of them.
I think my character has a big part of what separates me from others. I go over and beyond for every client I ever meet and also my work speaks for itself.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
It’s majorly saturated and I don’t see that changing. The only problem for all of the new tattooers is finding and keeping clients.
The artists that have years of experience and continually make sure clients are taking care of I feel will be more than fine.
