Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Star and Barry J. 

Hi Jada and Barry, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We met doing production shows seven years ago. We discovered a mutual interest in songwriting while on breaks between shows. This blossomed into a friendship and musical partnership. We signed our first record deal with a very small indie label and released our first album in 2018. Since the release of our album, we have been fortunate enough to write several shows, including our own headlining show at a major theme park. We also got our very first cut with the song Christmas Where We Are, which was recorded by Dolly Parton with Billy Ray Cyrus and featured on her Holly Dolly Christmas album in 2020. 

Currently, we have relocated to Nashville to search for a new record label and continue to write songs for our sophomore album and many more future projects. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We have been very fortunate, however, there are always bumps and potholes on your journey. The biggest obstacle most of us face is our own insecurities and we have definitely been victim to that. Thankfully, we have a wonderful group of chosen family that gives us the love and support we need! 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are singer/songwriters and recording artists. We specialize in making music that is fun, inclusive, and welcoming. Our passion is reaching out to our audience and making them feel like they are heard and that they’re never alone. We are most proud of our fans and of each other. What sets us apart is that we share a similar upbringing, including both of us having grandmothers that were important to us. We both learned to share our gifts and to love and accept everyone. 

What matters most to you?
Chosen family, love, acceptance, honesty, integrity, using music to heal and help people.
