Life & Work with Jas & Ray of Nashville, TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jas & Ray

Hi Jas & Ray, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Jas & Ray discovered their sound sitting around the campfire with a guitar drinking wine this past June 2024. Their blend of country, blues, and Americana songs feel right at home in Nashville, the city that brought them together. The duo is currently working on an EP inspired by life in the countryside and the classic sounds of music city.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Since we both came from our own musical backgrounds, coming together means we have twice the skills and resources to put towards our project. Jasmin plays in Nashville based grungey blues rock band Shedonist, while Ray moved to Nashville in May to join the psychedelic rock band Wynton Existing.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Coming from the world of rock, Jas & Ray both bring a unique perspective to Americana and country blues music. We’ve been compared to Loretta Lynn, The Civil Wars, and Alice in Chains. A diverse blend of genres creates a unique sound that stands out from the typical sad country and singer songwriter tunes you’d hear at most writers rounds.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think persistence and patience is the key to success. We’ve only just begun but recently started recording our original songs at home and hope to put some singles out this year in 2025!
