Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Bray. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Mr. Bray Studios started in 2011 as a freelance business that eventually by the grace of God, grew to where it is today. In the Summer of 2021, we moved to Middle Tennessee and as we outgrew just animation design to include software development and research it seemed natural to grow our name to Mr. Bray Labs.
Our clients have ranged from brands (e.g., Nike, Intel, InsightSoftware, Hallmark, Virgin Media, WildBrain, Mars, Amazon, Segment, RedBull, Apple) and everything in between (Animatron, Tito’s Vodka, Pears USA, Canada Media Fund, Prometric).
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The greatest struggle at the beginning was finding help interested in growing together. Many creatives try to work in a vacuum, which is a challenge to break that kind of thinking as what we do is a communal art form. The other challenge was largely growing pains for the leadership.
The CEO has a nonprofit, church-related work, and pastoral ministry background that sometimes combined mixed missions with developing a core-creative team. As the company grew so did the need for a greater vision and a more articulated one as well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We create empathy-driven storytelling through, animation, design, and software.
We have worked with major brands such as Apple, Netflix, Nike, Intel, Amazon, Mars, and Redbull, as well as smaller brands such as Animatron/Wave video, Prometric, Hallmark, and Pears USA.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We predict that animation and software companies will become the streamlined approach to all digital products. Software companies will merge or acquire creative teams that are skilled in an array of tools to help bring products and services to clients.
