Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica & Simone.

Hi Jessica & Simone, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
About ten years ago, we met in college, in a club for creatives; we have been best friends ever since. As artists and lovers of art, we’ve always felt that art should be functional — something you can use or wear. That’s how TNT Goods began — as a means to expand the concept of art beyond the gallery.

Sometimes art feels so unattainable or limited to a painting on a wall. We wanted to add art everywhere — on your dining room table, your nightstand, your denim jacket, and even in your shower. Our goods are created to spark joy and add more beautiful things to the world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been smooth. We had no previous experience as business owners. We only knew how to make and create. Like many, the pandemic made it difficult for our business to exist. All of our market opportunities were canceled and at the time, we did not have any online presence. During the pandemic, we had to build everything from scratch — our Etsy, our website, and our Instagram. We are still learning and with the help of our new social media community and other local small businesses, we are navigating the best we can.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We specialize in jewelry and handmade home decor. Our jewelry features minimalist, must-haves and everyday staples. We are known for customization and personalization. We love creating custom necklaces and one-of-a-kind home goods. Our home decor features beautiful resin coasters, decorative trays, and trinket dishes.

We are a two-woman team. We do it all. We are always open to trying something new. If our clients reach out to us — we are willing to make it happen. Whether that means adding extra silver pieces to our solely gold jewelry collection or making a custom set of coasters for a housewarming gift — we deliver. It is truly our pleasure to make, create, and curate.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Many people are surprised that we really hand make most of our goods. Last fall, we created a 90s R&B Inspired Crewneck Sweatshirt collection. Most of our clients were surprised that we hand-pressed every single crewneck ourselves. We are very hands-on.

Many of our clients believe we have a storefront. We have received numerous calls requesting the address to our brick and mortar — which doesn’t exist. It is an honor that people want to come visit and shop with us in person. Hopefully, one day we can open a shop!
