Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Mohr.
Jordan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I found the stage at the early age of 6. Although I’m originally from Florida; we lived in Portage, Wisconsin for 5 years. I became involved with the Portage Center for the Arts. I was immediately hooked on live theatre.
We moved back to Florida 8 years ago, where I continued performing throughout high school in an internationally recognized program. Like so many during the pandemic, my performing world was turned upside-down.
I started recording demos for the local songwriter, and I fell in love with the process. Through his introduction to a local production studio; I soon found myself in the DME (Dreamwalker Evolution) artist development program.
In one year, with the guidance of Mike and Caroline Walker. I released 5 singles, and 2 music videos, and performed at many venues in my area. I was also fortunate to participate in my first writer’s round in Nashville, Tennessee held by Patrick Lefils AKA “Southern Fellow”.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Although I’ve been a performer/vocalist for most of my life; I only picked up a guitar a little over a year ago. Learning to play guitar at a faster pace while singing, and performing is my greatest challenge. I really push myself, but it is difficult to make up for a lost time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a country singer/songwriter. I’m most known for my performance ability and belting from my years spent on a stage in the theatre world. I’m most proud to be recognized for my work ethic. I move at a fast pace and have been told I take direction well.
I think what sets me apart from others, is the ability to laugh at myself and have fun. I am also supportive of other artists reaching for their dreams. I figure, we’re on this journey together and we can all learn from one another no matter how far along our path we have traveled.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people probably see me as a “girlie girl” but I played softball for 6 years and was both a pitcher and shortstop. I absolutely love fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and exploring nature. Honestly, anything that involves me being outdoors.
Getting messy with mud and dirt doesn’t bother me one bit!
