Life & Work with Judah Wardrope of Maple Ridge, BC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Judah Wardrope.

Hi Judah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Canadian and was born in British Columbia but grew up in the prairies in Carlyle Saskatchewan most of my life. I started singing and playing guitar when I was 12, but started going after music as a career when I was 22. I started playing open mics, and worked my way up to being able to get paid gigs. I was next to broke living in a motel room cause that’s all I could afford, but I was set on chasing my dream. I moved back to British Columbia and signed on as an artist with the BC Country Music Association. My debut single If I Die Tomorrow came out February last year, and has been picked up on country radio across Canada and even down in the US. It was named one of the top songs of 2025 by Coyote Country (US Radio Station) my second single Sundown was also picked up on country radio

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been many ups and downs. Financially it has been tough at times, but I feel like most artists deal with that in the beginning. I have also had to work hard to be more confident in my voice, I know I can sing but I’m also very hard on myself and demand a lot from myself to be the best I can be. My whole motto is I might not be the best, but I will work blood sweat and tears to get to where I’m going

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a country singer, I’m most known for my song If I Die Tomorrow, and for being a high energy entertainer at live shows. Being picked up on multiple radio stations is something that is pretty cool, to dream of that stuff and have it happen especially early on in my career is something I’m so thankful for. I also won my first award as Favourite Local Singer by the cities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows BC for 2025. To win a fan voted award in the community I live in was super awesome

I think one thing that sets me apart is while lots of artists have one thing they specialise in, I like to have songs that are both upbeat and very energy driven, as well as some songs the are very slow and deep like my next single coming out soon

I’m a country artist and love country music but I grew up listening to everything from U2, Justin Timberlake and Luke Bryan, to Eric Church, Coldplay and Florida Georgia Line so my influences are all over the map

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Trust God, work hard and believe in yourself! It can be hard not to compare yourself to others, but just know you are unique and different and that is your strength, just be you
