Life & Work with Kedrin Meehan of The Nations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kedrin Meehan.

Hi Kedrin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been doing lashes for years, but the real turning point was deciding to stop renting space in someone else’s building and create my own. I got the building in spring 2022 and have been renovating it ever since — finishing the first floor in November 2023 and the second floor just this past March 2026. All of it across two pregnancies. I turned it into The Artistry: a beauty and wellness destination on Charlotte Avenue in Nashville that’s actually built for the people inside it. First floor aesthetics, second floor hair. It’s everything I wish had existed when I was starting out.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Renovating a commercial building from the ground up while running a business and growing a family was not a small thing. There were delays, decisions, and moments where the finish line felt far away. The second floor wasn’t completed until March of this year — years in the making. But the hardest part was probably just betting on myself when the easier path would have been to stay small and stay comfortable.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a lash artist and beauty space owner based in Nashville. I specialize in natural-looking lash extensions and lash lifts. What sets me apart is simple: I show up. I’m on time, I’m consistent, I come prepared with everything I need, and my clients know they can count on me. I’m relatable — my clients don’t just trust my work, they trust me. What I’m most proud of is The Artistry: a space I built from the ground up that operates differently than the big suite chains. I’m a present landlord. My tenants have a real community, not just a key and a contract.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Faith carried me further than luck ever could. There were so many times it genuinely shouldn’t have worked out — and honestly, looking back, I don’t know how it did. The renovation took years. I did it through two pregnancies. There were plenty of moments where the logical thing would have been to walk away. But I’m driven, I’m determined, and I’m a little bit stubborn — and I just believed it would work out. That belief kept me moving when nothing else made sense.
