Life & Work with Kenzie Williams of Lebanon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenzie Williams

Kenzie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been dancing, cheering, and doing gymnastics since the age of 2. I’ve always been an athlete and learned the importance of movement at a young age. After cheering in high school for a couple of years, I decided to take a break to focus on academics. To stay active I concentrated on working out, and tried everything from HIIT, CrossFit and strength training. I fell in love with weight lifting and decided to turn that passion into a career. During college, I become a Certified Personal Trainer at a gym in my college town. As a former competitive cheerleader, dancer, and gymnast my interest in nutrition started because I didn’t know how to properly fuel my body. I wanted to understand more about how eating affected my performance. I spent 20+ hours training each week and was determined to maximise that effort. I went on to cheer in college, where I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. The food we consume plays a pivotal role not only in nourishing our bodies but also in preventing and treating diseases. At Tennessee Tech University I obtained a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics to not only help people with fitness but nutrition as well. After college, I completed a dietetic internship and worked at a doctors office. That’s where I began to train older adults and found my passion. After working at a doctors office I realised how important health is along with nutrition and fitness. I decided to expand my knowledge and love for health and become a health coach.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my journey, one of the biggest struggles I’ve faced has been prioritizing my own health while managing everything else life throws at me. There have been times when stress, responsibilities, and even self-doubt made it easy to put my well-being on the back burner. Whether it was neglecting proper rest, skipping meals, or pushing through exhaustion, I had to learn the hard way that taking care of myself isn’t optional—it’s essential. Over time, I’ve realized that I can’t pour from an empty cup. Making my health a priority, both physically and mentally, has been a journey of learning balance, setting boundaries, and embracing self-care without guilt. It’s not always easy, but I know that when I take care of me, I show up stronger in every other aspect of my life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a NASM certified personal trainer, IIN health coach, and nutrition expert, my passion lies in helping others achieve their health and fitness goals in a sustainable, holistic way. I specialize in creating personalized training programs and nutrition strategies that empower clients to build strength, improve their well-being, and develop a positive relationship with their bodies. What sets me apart is my deep understanding of how fitness and nutrition work together, allowing me to provide a well-rounded approach tailored to each individual’s needs. I’m most proud of the transformations I’ve helped people achieve—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Seeing clients gain confidence, strength, and a healthier mindset is what drives me every day.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that might surprise people who know me or follow my work is that, despite being young and dedicated to health and fitness, I’ve had to navigate my own personal health struggles. Many assume that because I take care of myself, things have always been easy, but the truth is, I’ve had to overcome challenges that tested my physical and mental resilience. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of what it means to truly care for my body—not just through workouts and nutrition, but by listening to my body, managing stress, and prioritizing overall well-being. My journey has made me even more passionate about helping others because I know firsthand what it’s like to struggle and come out stronger.
