Hi KOLIANO T., can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Koliano T.jonez born raised in Brooklyn New York second oldest out of three siblings came from a single parent home… my journey was a struggle but destined for greatness my mother was always the type that worked… so on the weekends she would take me to this magical place where I watched so many entertainer’s touch the stage with their musical abilities /talents where I was captivated and influenced by the culture of R&B soul/hip-hop and that special place was called the apollo theater so not only did I get my influence by watching my favorite artist on tv… I was there in person to see it all at once not just in front of the stage but behind the scenes as well I met so many artists like James brown teddy Pendergrass/Shirley Murdock which was like one of my mom’s best friends orange juice jones the temptations blue magic the delphonics and so many more during those times the apollo theater was owned by the legendary guy fisher of Harlem so being in his presence was a influence as well because he showed me that anything is possible if you believe in yourself…he always use to tell me never let a no body tell you no! Only you know what you’re capable of… so aim high dream big so the same standards that was instilled in me as a kid is the same standards I live by today…never give up! Especially on yourself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey to succeed was never a smooth ride I’ve watched so many give up on their dreams give up on themselves.. I’ve witnessed the most talented ppl make bad decisions based on emotion or situations they were in… I knew from the beginning you gotta have tough skin in order to navigate through … I never was raised to be a follower only a leader I’ve succeeded where so many have failed and ppl always ask me what makes me different from the rest and my reply is being the best me I can be… while everyone else is trying to be somebody else my advice bet on yourself! Be you… I would rather ppl hate me for being me rather than love me for being something I’m not.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My first love is music I love writing recording producing directing I’ve worked with some of the best talents in the game learned from so many but what I’m known for is acting… in 2023 I was introduced to the world from a movie which is number 1 on amazon prime…and that film is called pure finesse I play Jason Allen leader of the finesse boyz 9.4imdb my current project is my first horror film called ratchet…produced and written by green bro’s films I play the character fam! So definitely be on the lookout for ratchet coming to a theater near you 2025 starring alongside with the actor comedian Rodney perry and Christina karis from law & order so my journey of greatness continues but what I’m mostly proud of is being a father to my daughter trinity…..who I love dearly being a father is one of the best title’s a man can have because I get to inspire instill and love unconditionally so what set’s me apart from others is being original. I love being me!
