Today we’d like to introduce you to Mamie Turner.
Hi Mamie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is so amazing, I started in 2010 with my Nonprofit Healthy life for healthy families inc, and ended up on a bigger journey being founder of our Tennessee State Observance Day July 28th Bullets have no Eyes. I got to this elevation by, assisting those who needed resources, shelter, food, furniture, and the education on health issues. I have been recognized by many, the community is very kind and I’m very appreciative of the support that has been shown and given. I am youth Minister of my Panther Cubs, here in Nashville Tennessee. I’m the first recipient of the key to my native hometown union City Tennessee, being recognized by many mayor’s in Tennessee on bringing awareness against Gun violence. I was recognized by former president Joe Biden. And the Governor of Tennessee Bill Lee. I couldn’t have gotten this far without the support of family and friends. I love writing and challenging myself to new things.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes, it can be hard at times! But I have a great support team, I have many followers who give me great advice. I keep my Strong God first in everything I do. Being the founder and Executive Director of my own business has taken me through a lot of challenges. I have learned to be a go-getter, never stopping! I have found out I can’t depend on others, if I expect my vision to become a reality. My moto is Step up Step out and make a change. Change is good,
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m very creative! When My Strong God gives me a vision, I go to work to make it come to life . I love doing things for our community and State. I’m very proud when I can put a smile on a families face, everyone calls me Miss Mamie, I’m that person who helps get the information they probably can’t find. I’m different from others, because most don’t know me, until someone tells them who I am, I fight hard to bring awareness against Gun violence.
How do you define success?
Success to me is helping the next person elevate to the next level. Success is shining my light, Success is just being me, and being truthful to myself. Success is never giving up.
