Today we’d like to introduce you to Marin Prociw.
Hi Marin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always had a love for nature, creation, and all things outdoors. This passion was specifically channeled into the garden and working with plants and flowers. Growing up, I was surrounded by many people who poured their expertise in gardening and working with flowers into me. After moving to Franklin from Scottsdale, Arizona three years ago the idea of bringing this passion to people’s doorsteps came alive. This world has an unfathomable amount of beauty in it. I believe that a little bit of that nature belongs on everybody’s front porch. I started very organically this past summer. I wanted my business to grow in a genuine way, free of paid marketing or false advertising. Word of mouth from happy clients and my social media presence has been the biggest way my business has grown so far,
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Transitioning from doing something as a passion/hobby to doing it as a way to make a living has its own set of obstacles. I would say it so far has been a smooth road but having just begun in May, it is still very much a learning process. Working with clients in a creative way, building relationships with wholesale nurseries and florists are all things that take time and authenticity so I know that time will be my biggest asset as I continue.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
There are two types of people in the world. People who make your life harder and people who make your life better.
I’m often reminded of how important it is to surround myself with things that give me life. The unrelenting hustle and bustle of our day is always banging on the door. I want to surround myself with the alluring colors of flowers and the fresh beauty that trees and beautiful plants can bring. That life-giving beauty is all around us if you look in the right places.
Franklin Flowers is my attempt to bring that life to your home. We live, eat and sleep flowers and will design, create and plant custom container gardens for any setting. Your home, business storefront, large, small, it’s all in our wheelhouse.
What sets us apart is our ability to give people a place to rest their minds and provide a sliver of beauty in their everyday lives.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband Kevin, our two little girls Mila and Noa. This may seem like a one woman show but without their support, it wouldn’t be possible. My sister Erin who has taught me so much about planting and this business.
