Life & Work with Melanys Rodriguez De La Hoz of Bellevue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanys Rodriguez De La Hoz

Hi Melanys, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m an environmental engineer; but when I moved here from Colombia, i didn’t get any job in that area, i started working in restaurants as a host, and lately in a hotel as a server. Then for hobby i decided to take courses and workshops on this amazing world of flowers and I fell in love with flower art. I really love working in this field, I put all my effort into any arrangement and the best part is the final result and the smiles on the people’s faces.
I grew up in Colombia, but my family and I moved to Nashville 3 years ago. Involving family in my passion is such a blessing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think the most difficult part of this is let the people know that you and your flower shop exist, getting a strong community and frequent customers who support and love what you do. That’s a process and I am trying my hardest to get it

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We’re a local Nashville, TN florist with a lovely variety of fresh flowers and creative gift ideas to suit any style or budget. It is our pleasure to assist you with any local, as well as worldwide deliveries. We welcome all corporate accounts. For your convenience, we also offer daily floral delivery to local funeral homes and hospitals.

I’m so proud that my flower shop is sustainable and I try my best to work with eco-friendly or nonimpact products. We also do waste segregation to improve the level of resources utilization and to reduce the amount of garbage!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
All my customers ask me, Why La Veranera?
La veranera is a very popular plant in my city. It is a climbing shrub that can reach up to 10 meters in height, so is normal watch it on walls, or balconies. It is characterized by its colorful flowers and oval leaves that are arranged alternately along the stem. The colors associated with the plant are pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white and yellow!
