Hi Melissa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been creating. As a little girl growing up on Long Island, I would sit for hours sketching clothing designs, dreaming of having my own boutique or creative gallery one day. Back then, I imagined it in Manhattan, a city filled with lights, fashion, and big dreams. But as it turns out, my heart found everything I was looking for right here in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
When my husband, Greg, and I moved here six years ago, it immediately felt like home. The warmth, the people, the sense of community, it all inspired me to finally bring my lifelong dream to life. With his encouragement (and a lot of late nights, faith, and hard work), Love, Rae Grace was born.
Love, Rae Grace is more than a boutique, it’s a space where style, confidence, and self-love come together. I wanted to create a place that feels personal and inspiring, where people can walk in and not only find something beautiful to wear but also feel seen, celebrated, and connected. Whether it’s creating a custom charm necklace that tells your story, patching your favorite denim, or simply finding an outfit that makes you feel like you again, every detail at Love, Rae Grace is designed with heart and intention.
Our space now includes our Style & Self-Love Studio, a place for creativity and connection. It’s home to pop-ups, parties, and photo installations for creators, families, and brands. I’ve always believed style is about expressing who you are, self-love is about embracing it, and community is about sharing it. Together, those values shape everything we do inside and outside our walls.
None of this would have been possible without my family. Greg has been my rock and biggest supporter, always pushing me to dream bigger and helping me make it happen. My five kids, Anthony, Damon, Dahlia Love, Charlotte Rae, and Amelia Grace, are the heartbeat of it all. The name Love, Rae Grace comes from my girls’ middle names, but this dream belongs to all of them. Anthony has been by my side from day one, building, helping, hauling, and creating right alongside me. Without his constant helping hands, I truly don’t think any of this would have been possible.
At its core, Love, Rae Grace is about more than fashion. It’s about building confidence, celebrating individuality, and pouring love back into the community that welcomed us so fully. This has been a lifelong dream come true and every time I see someone walk through our doors smiling, I’m reminded exactly why I started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but every bump has shaped this dream into what it’s meant to be.
Even from the very beginning, when I was younger, I always dreamed of being in fashion and art. I actually got accepted into FIT, the Fashion Institute of Technology, but life took me in a different direction. I became a young mom, and at that time, I listened to a lot of outside voices and my own inner doubts.
I questioned whether I could really make it in a creative field, if I’d be successful, and how I’d make it all work.
Looking back, one of my biggest regrets is letting those doubts hold me back for so long.
When we first started thinking about “Rae Grace”, I had just had our son, our “last baby”, Damon, and we were still figuring out what came next. Then came our biggest surprise, our daughter, Dahlia Love.
I don’t know if it was determination, faith, or a little bit of postpartum adrenaline, but when Dahlia was about three months old, I decided I wasn’t going to wait anymore. I was going to make this dream happen, even with a newborn, four other kids, and a million reasons to put it off.
I wanted to show my children that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and work for it.
My husband has been my biggest motivator through it all. He’s the one who constantly says, “Do it,” even when I’m full of doubt. Financially, starting a business from scratch hasn’t been easy, but I’ve kept the faith that my space will fill with beautiful faces and become the heart of everything I’ve envisioned. I also didn’t have a business background, so there’s been a huge learning curve but I’ve been blessed with an incredible community of mentors and friends.
The Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce, my business cohort, and people like Alderman Erinn Hartwell, have been amazing supports. They’ve guided me, encouraged me, and reminded me that every dream worth chasing will have challenges along the way. Every hard moment has been worth it to see this dream come to life not just for me, but for my family and this community that’s embraced us so wholeheartedly.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Love, Rae Grace is truly a piece of my heart. Every detail, from the decor to the products to the experiences we offer, has been hand-picked and designed with so much intention. I wanted to create a space that feels welcoming, uplifting, and personal. When you walk in, you don’t just shop, you’re part of something that celebrates style, self-love, and connection.
What sets us apart is the experience itself. I’m very hands-o, I’m in the shop almost every day, helping customers style pieces, find confidence, and just feel good. Whether you’re coming in to shop, to add a little sparkle with hair tinsel, or to make something special at our charm bar or denim patch bar, I want every person to leave feeling a little more confident and inspired than when they came in, you can even just stop in to chat because I love that too!!
We carry clothing in sizes small through 3X, and I’m so proud to be growing our inclusivity and expanding into new things, like adding kids’ pieces and hosting creative parties and events in our space. From birthday parties to girls’ nights, photo shoots, and pop-ups, there’s always something magical happening here.
At the end of the day, Love, Rae Grace is about creating a space that feels beautiful, personal, and full of heart, a place where every detail tells a story and everyone who walks through the door feels seen and celebrated.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are so many ways to be part of Love, Rae Grace, whether it’s shopping in the boutique, attending one of our events, or collaborating on something creative. I love partnering with other local businesses and makers, hosting pop-ups, styled shoots, and unique community events in our space.
I’m always open to new ideas, partnerships, and collaborations. My goal is to keep building an even more beautiful and supportive community here in Spring Hill, for the women, the moms, the kids, and everyone who walks through our doors. This space was built to bring people together, and I love when those connections grow in unexpected ways.
We also host a weekly Mom Meet-Up every Tuesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m, it’s a relaxed, welcoming time for moms and littles to gather, connect, and recharge. And beyond that, you can always reach out if you have an idea for a pop-up, workshop, or creative event.
The best way to support Love, Rae Grace is simply by showing up, whether that means stopping in to shop, sharing about us on social media, or just spreading the word. Every bit of support helps this dream grow and keeps the heart of this community beating strong.
