Life & Work with Nick San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick San Antonio.

Hi Nick, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started as a student at Belmont University studying audio engineering. I’ve always had an interest in capturing the electricity of a recording studio. I have a knack for turning a homely space into a space to capture music.

I often work with local artists allowing them to have quality recordings without breaking the bank through music row.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a very natural process in creating my sound and facilitating a comfortable environment, especially when accommodating for the artists. I’ve learned it is invaluable to be able to pick up on social cues and the general energy of a room to supply the artist and anyone involved in the session with the necessary tools to develop their tracks.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My goals in the music industry is to be a vehicle for artists to express themselves freely while going above and beyond in the realm of engineering and producing an artists music to best reflect their vision and beyond. I believe my calm and collected attitude paired with my affinity for communicating with artists and my vision as an Audio Engineer sets me apart from others.

I primarily work with artists through the song recording and production process, additionally over the postproduction process through edits and mixes. I pride myself on being a comprehensive listener which allows me to carry out on post production revisions.

One thing that surprises people about me is my enthusiasm to record any genre of music. I’m a huge fan of music and all the genres it has to offer. I believe when paired with an artist we can work together to achieve a song worth listening to

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
