Life & Work with Sharita Wysinger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharita Wysinger.

Hi Sharita, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Sharita Wysinger. Originally from Mississippi, I moved to Tennessee in 2013. It has been one of the best decisions of my life. I started beauty school at Queen City College in 2018 and graduated in 2019. I passed my last state exam in November of 2020 and officially became a licensed Esthetician. I was offered my own space a year prior by Ms. Antuan Cornelius. As promised, once I graduated it was ready for me. I moved all my things in and now have my own room inside Gigi’s Beauty Hair and Restoration Center. I have been here since February of 2021. Along my journey, I have had amazing experiences, celebrity clients, and have even attended the Red Carpet event for the Stellar Awards this year.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everything was going pretty well until I lost a host of family members only a month after moving into Gigi’s. I lost both of my biological brothers, my grandmother, and my aunt all within 3 days. I lost a cousin a couple of weeks later. It was and has been devastating. I get through my days with the words and support of my mom and family, therapy, and my grief support group Lending Our Shared Stories (L.O.S.S.). The founder Treva R. Gordon and others have been by my side since day one. I couldn’t thank God for a better support system.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed Esthetician and I specialize in skincare. I do an arrange of services from Facials, Waxings, Eyelash Applications, Makeup Applications, Brow Tinting, and etc.. What I’m most known for is my makeup. I do all types of makeup applications, but most of my clients like my glittery looks. They just pop and you can’t help but be the center of attention when you have this glam. What I’m most proud of is having the opportunity to be an MUA for the Treva and Kevin show. It’s a nationwide television show that appears on my tv 30. I have been working with them since February of this year as well.

Recently I started a bounce house business named B&M Bounce By SSW LLC in honor of my brothers Mario and Brandis Brown who passed away March 21, 2021. I also am now a fully enrolled college student at Austin Peay State University. My major is criminal justice with a minor in pre-law. Once I’m finished I plan on attending law school to become a Supreme Court Judge in the future.

What’s sets me apart from others is my fearlessness. I’m not afraid to take chances. Either I’ll learn or grow from it. I’m always down for a challenge.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck. I know that everything is ordained by God, and I thank him for it all; the good, the bad, and the ugly. I know that His plans are to prosper me and not to harm me, to give me a future, and no matter what happens or comes my way I will always trust Him.
