Life & Work with Taylon Hope of Franklin, TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylon Hope

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into the world of music began at a very young age. Growing up in the small town of West Jefferson, North Carolina, I was surrounded by the sounds of traditional Appalachian music and the warmth of community gatherings. At just four years old, I started singing in church. The church was a place of worship and a vibrant hub for musical expression. I remember standing on that small stage, my heart racing excitedly as I sang hymns alongside my family and friends. Those early experiences instilled in me a deep love for music and performance. As I continued to nurture my passion for singing, opportunities began to arise that would shape my future. By turning twelve, I had started working with Dolly Parton’s producer, Kent Wells. This moment led my family and me to make a significant decision: we moved to Nashville, Tennessee. God has blessed me abundantly throughout this journey. As I honed my craft and gained confidence as a performer, I had the incredible opportunity to sing at some of the most iconic venues in country music history. Performing at the Ryman Auditorium was a dream come true; known as the “Mother Church of Country Music,” it holds a special place in the hearts of artists and fans alike. Standing on that stage felt surreal as I connected with an audience that shared my passion for music.
Another highlight was performing at the Grand Ole Opry House, where countless legends have graced the stage before me. Each performance there is steeped in tradition and history, making it an unforgettable experience every time. Additionally, I’ve had the pleasure of singing at The Bluebird Cafe, renowned for its intimate setting and focus on songwriting excellence. It’s a venue where many famous artists have been discovered, making it an honor to share my music there. Currently, I’m also hosting monthly shows at The Listening Room Cafe—a space dedicated to showcasing original songs from both emerging and established artists.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Leaving North Carolina was not an easy decision for my family and me. The roots we had established there were deep, intertwined with our lives in ways that were both comforting and significant. My grandparents played a pivotal role in my upbringing; their wisdom and love were constants in my life. Additionally, the church community we belonged to provided a sense of belonging and support that is hard to replicate. The thought of leaving behind these cherished relationships and familiar surroundings filled me with apprehension. The move to Nashville represented a significant change, one that came with its own set of challenges. Transitioning from the small-town atmosphere of North Carolina to the bustling environment of Nashville was daunting. I had to adapt to a new school, make new friends, and navigate a new city. Although it was hard leaving what we have always known, God has always had a plan. I am so thankful for my parents and all they’ve sacrificed for me and my dreams! Nashville has become a second home for us and I’m so thankful for all the people we have become close with in and out of the industry!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
