Life & Work with The Sunday Alibi

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Sunday Alibi .

Hello, The Sunday Alibi; thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
We all met at Belmont University during our first year on campus in late 2021. Will Kuzman and Aidan San Diego, old friends from Maine, met Sam Comfort and Clay Beck, old friends from Washington. Each pair of friends played music together in their hometown before playing in Nashville. Our band reached its final iteration when Arizona native Cam Bertolet loaned us his bass skills. As soon as we played together, we felt something that made us all say, hey, this is a little different. The first time we played live on January 11th, 2022, we knew there was something special, something that felt really good to us.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Just like anybody else’s musical career, nothing has really come easy for us. Trying to keep track of performance opportunities while gathering more for the future has for sure been a challenge. Aside from these performances, us being able to collectively write music that will appeal to the biggest possible audience while maintaining some musical integrity is a big one too.  And a captivating social media presence on top of it all? We’re still working on that one if we’re gonna be honest. But we’re very motivated to getting this band to it’s highest potential.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Man, back in Maine around 2011, Will and Aidan were playing in their backyard when suddenly Aidan had been shot with an arrow. He ended up passing out either from the sight of blood or the shock, it’s been so long he can’t really remember. It was quite some time after this that Will finally admitted he was the one who shot the arrow. To this day they still laugh about it, there’s no “bad blood” over it or anything.
