Life & Work with Victor and Sereika Mercado and Chiem of Snellville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor and Sereika Mercado and Chiem.

Hi Victor and Sereika, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Sereika Chiem (like Erica with an “S”), and I am the founder of Vega Rose Body Goods. From a young age, I’ve always loved handcrafted goods, especially bath & body ones. Everything we offer is natural, organic, & vegan friendly. The non-vegan lip balms are the only exception as they are from beeswax. All items are made to order or done in very small batches to ensure that you receive the freshest products. I’m a Graphic Design graduate from The Art Institute of Atlanta with 20+ years of experience as a full-time Graphic Designer by profession. From concept, design, layout, product creation, packaging, labeling, and photography, & I completely do shipping all items in this Etsy store!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road because it takes time, patience, and finances to start a new business, no matter how small. However, because I already enjoy working with arts and crafts, creating this brand has been fulfilling.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Graphic Design graduate from The Art Institute of Atlanta and with 20+ years experienced full-time Graphic Designer by profession. I work for the automotive industry, creating designs to go on products for car dealerships and other businesses.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I remember the many trips my family would go on, so throughout my adult life, I made it a point to keep the tradition going and travel as much as possible and experience different cultures and surroundings.
