Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Carter.
Hi Zachary, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well I have always been extremely intrigued with building things as a kid. I have worked jobs since I was 16 years old within the Home building industry. Roofing, Solar installation, Building Custom Homes. Welding and Fabrication was a hobby that I picked up as a kid and considered making a career out of. After high school I took private lessons to get a jump start within this field of work. After receiving news that I was going to be a father, I chose to go a different route and become a Lineman building and maintaining powerlines in Sacramento, Ca.
I worked as a lineman for about 3 and a half years. My wife and I had 3 kids. A 5-year-old boy and 3-year-old identical twin girls. Then the unimaginable occurred, towards the end of 2019, my wife started to walk down a dark path that kick started the beginning of our divorce. This was the beginning of the life story of Redemption Metal LLC.
After acquiring primary custody of my children, and the loss of my job due to a raging battle with depression, loss of identity, and a loss of purpose, I needed to make money to keep food on the table. I started to weld and fabricate out of my garage and work part time at the local church. One of the staff members at the church recommended starting my own business. So, with his help the Idea of Stackin Dimes LLC was created. This was the first stage of the business. Living in Cameron Park, CA I started to complete small jobs for friends and family. At this time, I started my walk with God. I was a new believer with this Idea to become a new business owner. Over the next year God would continue to lead me to the place where he wanted myself and the business to be planted.
In November of 2022 I packed up everything I had and my kids and moved to Lebanon, TN. From November until July 1, 2023 I worked remolding homes while the business was in early stages of pregnancy. I started to acquire all the necessary paperwork need to open the business. Then on July 1st, I purchased a dying welding shop located in Gallatin TN. The business was born. We operated as Stackin Dimes LLC during this time until December of 2024. I was worn out and tired, ready to throw in the towel, when God spoke and said “now can we do it my way” and my response was yes.
When I quit fighting God and trying to make a name for myself and elevate myself, that when things changed. the first thing I was told to do was “Re-brand”. I am going to make this a story of “redemption”. This was the moment the business was re-born into “Redemption Metal LLC”. He started to bring people into my life and the business to help it grow and expand. Jobs started to come in, and work began to flow and here we are today. Building beautiful pieces of art not only to compliment a home or business, but to also help ensure the safety of people.
God is story of Redemption Metal LLC, Without Him and the Love that He has for His children there would be no Redemption Metal LLC. Without His Love I can honestly say that I would also not be here. He took a brokenhearted wretch that was living a life in complete opposition of Him and healed the heart and repaired the man. I have been in some extremely dark places and He has never let me go.
There is Redemption for everyone, But only with God and his son Jesus Christ.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Just like every business there are growing pains. There have been struggles with Marketing, finances, hiring to quickly, rebuilding projects, equipment failure and so on. But that’s business, But we have always had everything we needed in its time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a welder and fabricator. I take and idea or a vision from a client and bring that into reality. It could be a set of railings for a home, a spiral staircase, entry gate, exhaust for a hot rod, customizing a duck boat, or just a beautiful sign for a local business.
I specialize in railings, staircases, and entry gates
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My parents would take my brother and I to Hollister, California to the local OHV park to ride motorcycles. I would say that these trips would be the best part of my childhood. We had a lot of family time spent together. I can’t say that I have an exact memory that would be my “favorite”.
