Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoe Sneed.
Hi Zoe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started cutting hair at the age of 13. I was my only client for a long time. As I grew more comfortable, I started cutting close friends and family. Once I went to barber school at 17, I took off, and really fell in love with the craft.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
COVID pandemic during barber school was difficult. Classes were moved to zoom. Imagine learning about haircutting techniques and having to resort to fuzzy low-quality videos on zoom. I became a mobile barber during this time. Pulling up on clients to their homes with my services. Very risky but it pushed me to maximize time and low lighting.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Luxury Master Barber. I specialize in creating images/looks custom for my clients and help manage their skin and hair health. I’m proud to be the person my clients come to when they want a transformation.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
YouTube. Honestly, this was my university at one point. I used YouTube to get a better understanding of really anything. I also used YouTube for motivational purposes. I found a lot of people who were in the position I wanted to be in.
