Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi my name is Marvin Nevels. I own and operate IllumiVision Media as a photographer in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2014. I’m interested in bringing beauty to the world through my camera. I love being able to see the rose through the concrete. My company specializes in boudoir, fashion and cosplay. We also cover conventions, wedding and all photography needs

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My friend group of photographers. A simple critic good or bad could make the art speak.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I stopped wondering what people thought and just let my art speak. Love taking pictures of people and seeing their smiles

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Nope. Not at all. A little quiet escape soothes the soul. I’m more of a loner. I prefer to be by myself. Just me and my music.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes just being a father and running my company. Either one of those came with a rule book or a self help book. The praises I get from both are unmatched cause they don’t come from anyone. I see it myself
