Meet Adrienne Robertson of Abundant Health and Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Robertson.

Hi Adrienne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my career in medicine with a deep curiosity about how the body works as an interconnected whole. After completing my medical training, I spent over a decade practicing primary care and caring for patients across a wide range of settings. Over time, I became increasingly aware that many people were doing “everything right” within the traditional healthcare system and still not feeling well.

That realization shaped the direction of my work. I grew especially interested in preventive care, metabolic health, and the early signals that appear years before chronic disease develops. I wanted to create space for longer conversations, deeper assessment, and care that treated the whole person — not just a diagnosis or a lab value.

Abundant Health and Wellness grew out of that vision. It represents a shift toward physician-led, whole-body care that prioritizes clarity, education, and partnership. Today, my work focuses on helping patients understand their metabolic health, reduce future risk, and make sustainable changes that support long-term wellbeing.

The path hasn’t been linear, but it has been deeply meaningful. Every step has reinforced my belief that when people are given time, information, and compassionate guidance, they’re empowered to take ownership of their health in lasting ways.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been navigating a healthcare system that isn’t always designed to support prevention, longer visits, or deeply personalized care. Wanting to practice medicine differently often means building new structures from the ground up, which takes time, patience, and persistence.

On the business side, learning how to translate a clinical vision into operations, technology, and clear messaging has been its own education. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to learn through experience — refining processes, making adjustments, and becoming more intentional about where I invest time and resources.

At the same time, these challenges have been clarifying. They’ve helped me develop stronger boundaries, greater focus, and a clearer sense of what truly matters for both patients and the practice. Each obstacle has ultimately strengthened my commitment to creating care that is sustainable, ethical, and genuinely patient-centered.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Abundant Health and Wellness is a physician-led practice focused on whole-body and preventive care, with a particular emphasis on metabolic health. My work centers on helping patients understand what’s happening beneath the surface — often years before chronic conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or metabolic dysfunction are formally diagnosed.

What sets the practice apart is the depth and intentionality of the assessment process. Rather than brief, symptom-focused visits, we take a comprehensive approach that looks at metabolic markers, lifestyle factors, mental health, and long-term risk. Education is a core part of the work — patients leave with a clear understanding of their health and a roadmap they can actually use.

I’m most proud of the way the practice prioritizes clarity, time, and partnership. The goal isn’t quick fixes, but sustainable, informed decision-making and care that respects the complexity of the human body. For many patients, this is the first time their health has been explained in a way that truly makes sense to them.

Ultimately, Abundant Health and Wellness exists to support people who want a more proactive, thoughtful approach to their health — one that focuses on prevention, understanding, and long-term wellbeing.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about the Nashville area is the sense of creativity and community. The music, arts, and entrepreneurial energy give the city a vibrancy that’s hard to match, and I’ve found people here to be welcoming and supportive.

Living in Murfreesboro has been a wonderful complement to that. The surrounding suburbs offer a safe, family-friendly environment with a strong sense of community — from local farmers’ markets and seasonal festivals to quieter, everyday moments that feel grounded and connected. At the same time, having close proximity to Nashville means easy access to all the culture, food, and experiences of a major city.

If I had to name one downside, it would be the traffic — which is probably the shared experience of anyone who spends time in the area. Still, the combination of small-town warmth and big-city opportunity makes this region a really special place to live and work.
