Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Shea
Alexa Shea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey there!
My name is Alexa Shea Falk-Johns,
but for performance, and public I usually go by Alexa Shea.
I’m first and foremost a singer/songwriter based in
Nashville, but I’m from Farmington Utah originally.
I have been writing songs most of my life…
in fact, I wrote my first song at age 8, tying with
Michael Jackson as the youngest writer to be
signed with a major publishing company. By the
time I was 10, I had 5 multi platinum hits…and at
Age 12, I had two #1’s. You can say that I literally grew up
in the music industry.
Over the years, I have had
the opportunity to work with some of the best
songwriters, producers and artists in the world.
The incredible relationships I have fostered
along the way have become the foundation
for my production company Viibe Hii productions
in the creation of the “up and coming” Hit TV docuseries
called “Soul Sound.”
When the idea for SOUL SOUND came
to me, I knew that my past would lend itself
beautifully to this important project,
and I’m excited for the world watch, and be apart of it very soon!
I’m doing it all while being a full-time mama to my 4 year old daughter Gracie, and a wife to the love of my life -Ty. I have to remind myself that I’m living my dream come true while making others a reality. I’m deeply grateful to life for all it’s generosity to me, and I look forward with enthusiasm to all the good ahead! Stay tuned!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel like one of those vases that’s been broken many times, but each time it’s put back together with gold infusing the cracks. I’ve learned, and am still learning about the power of just being okay with being myself. Flaws and all.
It’s amazing what happens to your life when you look at your mistakes or “struggles” as the opportunities to be painted with gold. What I mean by that is that struggles have become the materials for me in which I’ve alchemized my pain and turned it into my power. I now intentionally channel that power into a positive purpose.
I’ve learned challenges happen, but struggling and suffering through them is a choice and can be transformed through a simple shift of perspective. I’m now very aware that life doesn’t happen to us. It happens through and for us. We get to decide it’s meaning.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a singer songwriter… first and foremost but current primary career is being the CEO of Viibe HIi Productions where we create new and meaningful content to entertain and empower. I’m the Creator of the new TV Show “Soul Sound, which will soon be airing along with sharing it’s partner app (WSWS) a wonderful tool for audiences everywhere who want to turn their story into a song. (consider it like a Tinder, but for songwriters!)
oh, and even though i’m primarily focused in the TV world these days,
I’m happy to say that I was invited to play at the Bluebird recently because I was a Golden Pick songwriting winner! It was an epic experience! I got to open and close the show! it was truly such a magical night, especially singing my song “The otherside” with the whole audience. (you’ll have to check out my instagram post on 12/21/24 -my handle is @alexasheamusic )
it was a moment i’ll remember forever!
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I feel like when you are willing to help others, you also receive the help you are looking for. I also believe that the teacher appears when the student appears and at different times in my life i wasn’t quite ready for a mentor. but when I am it happens fast.
When i know i’m ready to uplevel is when I reach a state of willingness to let go of my ego and approach something with total openess and coachability. I also tend to be a bit “ballsy” in reaching out directly to whomever i’m deeply inspired by… even if they are famous, and seemingly impossible to connect with. (You’d be surprised how many Presidents, famous creatives, and CEO’s are willing to meet for a cup of coffee to help somone who is asking to learn from them. I think the trick is to overcome the fear of asking! ) – so just ask!
