Meet Alice Jackson of Oklahoma City/ Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alice Jackson

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started taking voice lessons when I was 9 years old. My vocal teacher told me I would sound really great singing country, so I started to sing some country songs and everyone was amazed by how good I sounded. Then Covid hit and wasn’t able to take lessons again for a year. My Mom posted me singing the Folgers Jingle on TikTok in a swim cap on my way out the door for swim practice and that went crazy viral. It got up to 5.6 million views and then TikTok for reasons not understood deleted the account, along with the video, it was devastating but the show must go on, I say. So in 2023 we started a new TikTok account of just me singing. In January of 2024 I was scouted by Off The Row Studios in Franklin, TN to come record 4 original songs off social media. We worked behind the scenes with songwriters and producer Erin McCaffrey and traveled to Nashville in June 2024 to record in the studio. It was such an amazing experience. In July 2024 I released my first single ‘Jaguar’ and in early September 2024, I released my second song ‘Slay’.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth, but that’s okay, bumps in the road just make the adventure more fun! Some the struggles I have dealt with were not being cast in multiple parts for school productions, social media accounts getting deleted, people not being supportive or having rude things to say to me. Also in November 2023, I had a bad horse riding accident and couldn’t sing for about 3 months. I am never going to give up and I got back on that horse.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m Alice Jackson, a 12-year-old singer-songwriter from Oklahoma, and I’m making my mark in the music world. After being discovered on social media, I traveled to Nashville in June 2024 to record four songs and worked with Off The Row and some awesome musicians and songwriters. My debut single, “Jaguar,” which was released in July 2024 and my follow-up single, “Slay,” came out in early September 2024. I also recently released by debut music video for my single ‘Slay’. I’m also a musician who plays the fiddle, piano, guitar, and viola, and I’m honored to have received the 2024 Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival Mike Clark Scholarship. I’ve had the opportunity to perform the National Anthem and many other songs at events across Oklahoma. Right now, I’m in the 7th grade, balancing school with my growing music career.
