Meet Alyssa Thompson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Thompson.

Hi Alyssa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

My makeup journey started when I was a little girl. I have ALWAYS loved makeup and all things weddings. My love for those two things have just continued to grow and became my passion.

I am such a girls girl and there is nothing I love more than making women look and feel like the most elevated version of themselves. The reactions when they look in the mirror after their session still make me giddy.

I love the priceless connections and relationships I’ve been fortunate enough to make through makeup and that is something that never gets old.

Today, being a makeup artist full time, I still feel like this isn’t real life.

I feel so incredibly blessed to make a living doing something I love so fiercely. That alone is something so important to me. As a mother, being able to show my children that with a lot of hard work and determination you absolutely can make a career of something you’re passionate about.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?

Honestly, the road has been pretty smooth. I know it’s not this way for everyone, so that is not something that I take for granted. As soon as I decided to jump ALL IN head first, I haven’t looked back. It has exploded in a way I never expected.

My biggest piece of advice is to jump in, ALL IN, with no back door. Stay focused and put in the work. I would say no matter how difficult or seamless the journey, your attitude and determination are what will make or break you. Always treat people well and keep taking the next step forward.

1% better every day is what I live by. You will have hard days and failures, but fail forward, learn the lesson, and keep taking the next right step. It’s ALWAYS worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I am a makeup artist that specializes in a “natural glam” or as I like to call it a “most elevated YOU” look. While bridal makeup is the majority of what I do, I definitely don’t limit myself to that. I’m here to make women feel their very best for any event.

After working with so many different people, I truly believe what sets me apart aside from skill alone, is my positive attitude and the experience my clients get with me.

I love people and making them feel safe, seen, heard, and beautiful is a package deal and truly gives my clients the best experience.
