Meet Andrew Marshall of Goodlettsville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Marshall.

Andrew, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Meet Andrew Marshall, a musician whose soul-stirring performances resonate with authenticity and raw emotion. Born into a blue-collar family, Andrew experienced the ache of feeling like an outsider throughout childhood. Seeking solace, he found himself tangled in the grips of addiction, a journey that led to two prison terms. Yet, amidst the darkness, a flicker of hope emerged.
At the end of his second term, Andrew had a transformative encounter with Jesus, a turning point that ignited a passion for redemption and spreading the message of love and grace. For seven years, he poured his heart into leading worship at Celebrate Recovery, channeling his experiences into melodies that spoke of restoration and renewal.
But his calling didn’t stop there. Fueled by an unquenchable desire to share the love he’d found, Andrew and his wife embarked on a radical journey. They left behind their jobs, sold all possessions, and hit the road, traversing the country to spread the gospel through testimony and music.
Enter “Outlaw Gospel” – Andrew’s unique blend of Outlaw country and southern rock, woven seamlessly with his own story of redemption. With each chord and every lyric, he invites listeners into a sacred space where brokenness meets healing, and where the outlaw spirit finds redemption in the embrace of grace.
Through his performances, Andrew doesn’t just entertain; he transcends, weaving a tapestry of vulnerability and resilience that captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impact. His music isn’t just a sound; it’s a testament to the power of hope, a reminder that even in the darkest of nights, the light of redemption still shines bright.
So, join Andrew on this journey – a journey of outlaw spirit and gospel truth, where every note is a testimony, and every beat is a heartbeat of grace.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I began this journey at the tender young age of 40 years old. In the music industry, you’re considered over the hill at 30. My music is loud, so a lot of churches won’t have me. But, I minister at fairs, festivals, recovery centers, homeless camps, etc. Addiction almost took me out and Jesus saved me, so it is my job to get the message out to the people that won’t necessarily go to a church, and when possible, to the ones who are in church. This isn’t a high paying gig either. But, God has seen us through and has never left us wanting. All of our needs are met.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My music is what I use to reach people who struggle with addiction. It is called “Outlaw Gospel”. It’s Outlaw country mixed with Southern Rock and blues, wrapped around my testimony. My wife and I travel the country, going wherever God calls us, to deliver the message of Hope through Jesus Christ. My music is my testimony, and my wife (Charlene Marshall) gets up and gives her testimony also. We are a power couple for Jesus. I am most proud of the fact that we work for Jesus. Occasionally, we get to do some pretty cool stuff. In May of 2025, I was able to perform on the stage of the Grand Ol’ Opry house for the Inspirational Country Music Awards. We are just now coming off of a 2 month tour of the West Coast, and heading to Florida to begin a nine week tour up and down the East coast. My wife has created a Christian clothing brand, Witness wear, ( witnesswear4u.com), and it has really began to take off. Our story is no different than a lot of other people, but we have kept our marriage together through addiction, and prison. We have come through stronger than ever. We live, travel and work together, with our 3 pitbull fur babies, 24/7.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Showing people how their life can change for the better through Jesus. This is the great commission that we are all called to do.
