Meet Asia Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Johnson.

Hi Asia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Around August of 2020, I realized I wanted a side hustle. Hair and nails were not an option because it required a mastery. Selling a product was up my alley because I have good customer service skills. I thought about selling clothes; however, clothing boutiques are common in this area. I knew I wanted to stand out.

One day at work, lingerie just popped up in my head. When I heard the word “lingerie” I associated it with two stores: Victoria’s Secret or Fenty x Savage. Ever since then, I wanted to be the third store except strictly online. In college, I attended a lingerie party, but I had a hard time finding lingerie that suited me well. Also, lingerie can be expensive.

I finalized the name, Asia’s World Lingerie, with the Tennessee Secretary of State in September. The name and logo had to stand out because it is something I want to trademark in the future. I paid a graphic designer to make my logo. I made my own website through Shopify. I had to research reliable companies to use for labels and packaging. Also, I had to research the best apps to use to post content. I had to find models and book photoshoots. My launch date was January 4th, 2021. I had three months to make my vision a reality.

My goal was to keep women’s assets at the right places. Therefore, Asia’s World Lingerie has a ‘Body Type’ page to guide women for any confusion. I included body measurement, height, weight, and clothes size of my models on the Body Type page. Every woman wants lingerie that makes them look and feel good. I know how it feels to buy something and it does not fit. Then you are stuck with an item that you can not return like lingerie. Also, Asia’s World Lingerie is affordable for the sexy ladies out there. It is available in every variant and size. I did not want to exclude anyone. It is premium quality lingerie at your service. I wanted to guarantee a superb lingerie experience. The perfect and cozy lingerie that a woman’s heart desires.

During the launch process, I received love and support from immediate family, close friends, and co-workers at my job at that time. Currently, I have been in business for nine months. My goal for my first year was exposure. Being a business owner is a learning experience. The cool part is taking the knowledge that you learned and applying it to your business so it can improve. The world should know about Asia’s World Lingerie. I have stuff lined up for next year, so stay tuned!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
With anything in life, you are going to have your ups and downs. I knew my business market was hard because lingerie is not essential. My first challenge was the EIN number process which lasted three months. Facebook and Instagram blocking some of my posts saying it contains nudity. Another challenge is making TikToks and reels for my content. I want to be trendy, but it is time-consuming when you have a job, and you are a graduate student too. The last challenge is remaining positive through a slow period.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is anything that dealt with dance. My favorite memories specifically are dance recitals. I loved showing out on the stage with my hair and makeup done. I can not forget about the cool costumes too.

My favorite routine to perform were the jazz routines. My family always attended the dance recitals with flowers or a trophy. The love and support started early with me. Fun fact: I started dancing at the age of three and ended at age of 21. I was on Austin Peay’s Dance Team all four years of college.
