Meet Braylin Hardin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Braylin Hardin.

Braylin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started cooking in the kitchen with my mother when I was about 7. Then in high school, I went to a trade school my junior and senior year to earn my culinary/baking and pastry certificate. How I got to where I am now consist of early mornings, sleepless nights, a lot of hard work, and faith in God. I’ve given a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to be in the position I’m in today.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Lol, no it’s been a very LONG journey. Life definitely throws a lot of curveballs at you over time. I went thru probably the hardest times of my life between the ages of 20-22. you just gotta know how to capitalize and dig yourself out of a hole. You gotta believe in yourself when you feel like the whole world is against you. Even when you feel like giving up, keep going!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in soul food, private dining, and cheesecakes what I’m known for are my creative cheesecake catalog. with over 64 flavors and still growing, I’ve managed to come up with flavors people have never seen. from Hennessey peach cobbler to girl scout cookie to sweet potato pie and this list is endless. one of the things I’m most proud of is that I got to partner with food network star Darnell Ferguson and put three of my cheesecake flavors in his new restaurant, Tha Drippin Crab, located in Louisville Ky. what sets me apart from everybody else is that I’m always willing to learn and actually put the work in. a lot of people say they want to be successful but don’t want to put the long nights, early mornings, and the stress that comes with it. I saw a vision and I knew what came with it, I just had to put the grind and time in and everything else would take care of itself.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I normally listen to Eric Thomas when I wake up and when I’m in the kitchen. Eric Thomas is a motivational speaker who I found when I was going thru some dark times around 2018. Been listening to him ever since. I also listen to Les brown and different other motivational speakers.
