Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Lee.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Music has always been a part of who I am.
Some of my earliest memories are singing in church with my Paw Paw and going to live shows with my dad. Those moments made it so clear to me that this is what I want to do. I started my first band when I was about 15, and we played anywhere we could—two or three nights a week at bars all over North Carolina. At 21, I decided to make the move to Nashville. About two years in, I signed my first publishing deal, and since then, I’ve been incredibly lucky to share the stage with artists I’ve looked up to for years, including Willie Nelson, Gavin DeGraw, and Wade Bowen.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This career is an investment- financially, emotionally, and mentally. Finding stability isn’t always easy. One of the biggest challenges for me has been learning to accept the quieter seasons. I’m someone who wants to be on the road constantly, But sometimes, that door just isn’t open, and that’s been a hard but much needed lesson in patience and trust.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a singer/songwriter! A typical week I am in in Nashville writing songs, and out on the road on weekends playing live shows. There’s not much consistency, but those are my focuses! Performing has always been my favorite thing in the world. For me, it’s about connection, energy, and release. There’s nothing quite like the magic of sharing a moment with a crowd. I would say my live show is what sets me apart. One thing I’m especially proud of is my merch. I’ve always loved thrifting, so a few years ago I started collecting pieces on the road and turning them into unique, upcycled merch items. I love that when people buy my merch, they’re getting something one-of-a-kind.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Be kind and humble — to others, and to yourself. If you’re just starting out in music, my biggest advice is this: be completely authentic to who you are, and stay inspired. Your story matters. You’re going to impact people, and there’s nothing more powerful than doing that by being you. Someone once told me to “be in the moment and truly soak it up.” It sounded simple at the time, but it’s become something I live by. It’s easy to get caught up in the hard work with your head down, so make you don’t miss the beautiful moments you’re actually living. I’ve learned to value consistency and growth over rushing to the next thing. That shift has changed everything for me.
