Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Williams.
Hi Candice, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been one of faith, resilience, and purpose.
I’ve always had a heart for hospitality — it’s in my DNA. I grew up watching my grandmother, Mama Kat, who was an incredible cook, serve her family and community with love. Her kitchen was always open, the food always plentiful, and the laughter never-ending. Mama loved — and still loves — bringing people together for a good time. That spirit of warmth, generosity, and connection shaped who I am and how I serve today.
After years of working in the hospitality industry — most recently as an Associate Director of Sales at a luxury hotel in downtown Nashville — I felt a stirring in my spirit to create something that reflected both my passion for service and my heart for people. In December 2023, I took a leap of faith and launched Sow Good, a catering and events company built on the belief that food has the power to connect, comfort, and inspire.
What started as small, word-of-mouth events quickly grew into something much bigger. Sow Good became more than a catering company — it became a movement focused on creating meaningful experiences, mentoring youth, and serving our community through food and fellowship. We’ve since expanded into culinary training programs, senior engagement initiatives, and youth development opportunities that teach hospitality, service, and excellence.
Every step of this journey has been guided by faith. I truly believe that when you lead with love and integrity, God will open doors you couldn’t imagine. Sow Good is living proof of that — it’s a testimony that what you sow in service, you’ll reap in impact.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but my faith and my twin girls have kept me going. I had no plan B — I just had to trust God and step out in obedience. Balancing motherhood, business, and personal growth has been challenging, but seeing my girls inspired by hard work and faith reminds me every day why I started Sow Good.
Even when obstacles felt overwhelming, my family and my trust in God have been my anchor, giving me the courage to keep moving forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Sow Good, we create experiences that feed both body and soul.
We specialize in catering, event services, and community programs that bring people together through food, faith, and fellowship. Our menus are made with love, and our service is rooted in Southern hospitality — warm, genuine, and intentional.
I’m most proud of how Sow Good has grown beyond catering into something that truly serves the community.
What sets us apart is our heart. We don’t just serve meals — we serve moments that make people feel seen, valued, and loved.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about our city is the sense of community. There’s a genuine warmth here — people support local businesses, celebrate each other’s wins, and come together in times of need. It still feels like a small town with big heart, even as we grow.
What I like least is seeing that growth sometimes outpace connection. As new developments and opportunities come in, I hope we continue to hold onto the neighborly spirit that makes this place so special.
