Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Haubner.
Hi Cassidy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started dancing when I was two years old after my mom put me in my first dance class, and I immediately fell in love with it. From a very young age, I could always picture myself performing on stage. Dance became my world, and growing up, I trained and competed extensively, traveling to conventions and competitions where I had the opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s most respected choreographers who are still actively working today.
At 16, I began working professionally in Nashville through local music videos and assisting choreographers, which gave me my first real experience inside the entertainment industry. Then at 20, I attended a dance convention in Los Angeles that led to me signing with MSA Talent Agency, one of the top dance agencies in the country. I moved to LA on my own and immersed myself fully in training, auditions, and assisting choreographers including Michael Rooney, Tony Testa, and Gustavo Vargas. My time in LA pushed me creatively and professionally, and it also introduced me to acting, which quickly became another passion of mine.
In my mid-twenties, I felt called toward a new chapter and decided to move back to Tennessee to reconnect with myself, family, and community. What I thought would be temporary ended up becoming a redirection that deeply shaped me both creatively and personally.
Currently, I perform as a soloist at Marquee Nashville, where I get to improvise, express myself, and blend performance with storytelling in a really unique way. Alongside performing, I’m continuing to expand into choreography, teaching, and acting while building a career that feels authentic to who I am as both an artist and a person
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, and honestly, I think that’s what shaped me the most as both an artist and a person.
From a very young age, I struggled heavily with body image and perfectionism. Even as a child, I remember feeling pressure to look a certain way and believing that if I were “better,” smaller, prettier, or more talented, then I would finally feel worthy or successful. Growing up in such a high-pressure industry amplified those feelings, especially in dance where appearance can feel tied to opportunity.
My time in Los Angeles was incredibly transformative, but also very difficult mentally and physically. I pushed myself to extremes, overworked, under-fueled my body, and attached so much of my self-worth to external validation and success. I was constantly chasing this idea that once I booked the job or reached a certain level, I would finally feel fulfilled. Instead, I burned out.
Another challenge was learning how to navigate the entertainment industry as a young woman. There were moments where I felt overlooked, misunderstood, or unsure of who to trust. It can feel incredibly isolating at times, especially when you’re ambitious and trying to find your own voice in such a competitive environment. I think one of the hardest parts was learning that talent alone isn’t always enough — confidence, boundaries, relationships, and self-belief matter just as much.
There were definitely moments where I questioned myself and wondered if my dreams were realistic, but over time I’ve learned that success means much more than external validation. Coming back to Nashville helped me reconnect with myself creatively and personally. I’ve learned how important it is to create from a grounded place rather than from fear or comparison.
I still have goals and ambitions, but now I approach my career with much more self-awareness, balance, and trust in who I am
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a professional dancer, actress, choreographer, and performer based in Nashville. My work spans live performance, music videos, choreography, and acting, and I’ve trained extensively in multiple styles including jazz, hip hop, contemporary, salsa, Latin fusion, and commercial dance.
At my core, though, I consider myself a storyteller through movement and performance. What I love most about dance and acting is the ability to connect emotionally with an audience and transform a feeling, moment, or experience into something people can see themselves in. Whether I’m on stage, on camera, or choreographing, my goal is always to create something honest, present, and emotionally connected rather than just technically perfect.
I think what sets me apart is my versatility combined with emotional presence. I’ve always approached movement as more than steps — for me, performance is about truth, musicality, energy, and connection. I’m very passionate about creating work that feels cinematic, expressive, and human.
One thing I’m especially proud of is the fact that I’ve continued evolving creatively through every stage of my journey. From training and working in Los Angeles to returning to Nashville and rebuilding in a way that feels more aligned with who I am, I’ve learned how to create from authenticity instead of pressure. That shift has completely changed the way I approach my art.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was staying up all night with one of my best friends making comedic skits and dance videos together. We were both dancers, so we were constantly creating something and laughing the entire time.
