Meet Celine Edondson of New York City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celine Edondson.

Hi Celine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began dancing at the age of 12 & later went to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
While I was a freshman, I decided that I would be working professionally before I graduated. I auditioned for the Brooklynettes NBA Dance Team and made it!
I became the captain in my 4th season and danced on the team for 7 seasons.
While on the team I had the opportunity to also work professionally in NYC starring in numerous television shows. movies, award shows with artists, and more. Most notably, I was featured on Netflix’s ‘Dance 100’. Once I left the show, I came back in my 8th season as Assistant Coach and resident choreographer for the Brooklynettes. Now, I teach all over the country, at the top studios in NYC, choreograph for major artists, and own my own training program called Boom Prep. I am also mother to a 1.5 year old !

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh noooo. Plenty of sleepless nights. Especially at the start of my career. I was commuting back and forth to Philly – New York as a full time dancer and dance student. On top of that I was also working many side hustles. Now, although I am more stable and established – I am juggling coaching, choreographing, teaching, content creation, being a business owner, and motherhood all at the same time. Despite the bouts of imposter syndrome and fatigue – the hustle continues.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the Assistant Coach and Resident Choreographer for the Boroklynettes. I am a professional dancer and choreographer who specializes in commercial and street styles. My work has been showcased globally and nationally. I’ve had the pleasure to work with many major recording artists, teach all over the world, and be a trailblazer within Sports Entertainment. I am most proud of making a name for myself especially within the Sports Entertainment space. I am the first Assistant Coach for the Nets organization.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Continuously setting goals and achieving them – no matter how big or small. Aligned effort + consistency + hard work + determination = success!
