Today we’d like to introduce you to Chandler Marie.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always knew somehow or someway I wanted to make music a career. I started writing and playing guitar early, first learning a few chords from my dad, a musician who notably opened for Opry Member T. Graham Brown in the late 80’s. His music career unfortunately came to a halt due to family medical emergencies. But being exposed to his passion for music, listening to all genres of music growing up, and singing on the praise team in high school, I always knew I wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps, writing songs and singing. I truly believe God has a plan and a reason for everything that happens in our lives, and now my dad and I get to experience this crazy dream together.
Before starting my music career, I attended college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where I earned a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. From there, I moved to Nashville where I worked in special education. I also started singing at Tootsies Orchid Lounge on Broadway all at the same time, which made for some really long days.
After long talks with my family and a lot of prayer, I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my job to pursue music full-time mid-2023. I also took a step back from singing on Broadway in 2024 so I can focus on being a full-time artist, singing and writing just about every day. I am so grateful to be able to do that, and very blessed with my amazing support system including my family, producer, and many close friends. I cannot wait to see what doors the Lord opens for me next, and to also get some more music out into the world. I’ve released 16 singles already, including three so far this year (“Like A Man,” “Supposed To Be Easy,” and “Embers”). I have some other releases planned in the coming months, so keep an eye on my socials for updates!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would love to say my journey has been a smooth ride, but there have been a lot of ups and downs. Just when I think I’ve finally got it all figured out, something else pops up. I unfortunately lost my voice in 2024 and had to take a very long vocal rest. This was very heartbreaking having to figure out if I could continue singing. With a lot of rest, prayer, and amazing voice doctors at Vanderbilt, I have recovered and I am back chasing this dream of mine. Although I haven’t made it to where I want to be just yet, I’m going to keep chasing and following God’s path for my life.

On the music front, I’ve always been drawn to honest storytelling. My sound lives in modern country while pulling from pop and Americana influences, shaped by a lot of real experiences. I’m really proud to have recently made my Bluebird Cafe debut. I’ve also had the opportunity to play at the CMA Fest Spotlight Stage, Whiskey Jam and the Listening Room. I’m really excited about the momentum I’m building.
Aside from music, what most people might not know is that I have been working with those who have special needs since I was in elementary school. Even though I stepped away from my full-time job in special education, I still sub in when I am able. Those kiddos are such a light, and I’m so honored to continue working in this field as I can; it brings me so much joy.
I want to be known for my faith in the Lord and how He guides my every step. I am very proud of where I started and where I am now.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I always like to read my Bible and have my morning verses. Although, I am human and forget to do my reading, my family always helps keeps me on track. Praying and reading His word is what keeps be trucking along. I also love listening to worship music. It is my daily go-to when I need to feel the Lord through some music. I also love going to the gym and moving my body. I believe my body is a temple, and I do my best when I feel my best.
