Meet Chelsea Pearson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Pearson.

Hi Chelsea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am the founder and owner of Beautifully Bronzed TN Mobile Spray Tanning. I grew up here in Nashville for all of my life. In high school, I took a marketing class that required you to take on an internship. My teacher laughed at me when I told her I got a job at a tanning salon. I fell in love with the industry and worked throughout college managing and working in tanning salons. Six years later, I opened my own mobile spray tan business. My high school teacher still tells my story to her classes about following your passion no matter what it may be. I pride myself on not only being professional in every way with my business but also enjoying the personal interactions with my clients. This job is not only about tanning people it is about making them feel better too.

I have been lucky enough to have great clients and friends to help me grow my business over the last few years. As I have expanded my business, I make sure the quality of my tans remains my top priority. I invest a lot into the relationships I have made with my vendors to make sure that my equipment and ingredients are the industry’s best products.

Growing a business on your own is an adventure, and I’m here for it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a business owner everyday is a new learning experience. Delegating responsibility and giving up control of certain aspects of my company has been a recent obstacle for me. I pride myself on delivering a consistently high-quality product. Finding employees that I can trust to perform to my guest’s expectations has been a challenge. Thankfully I have two new hires who have been extremely helpful as my company grows.

I am often working 10-12 hour days driving from appointment to appointment. I make it a point to give myself time to work out and eat lunch during those long days. Work/life balance has also been a struggle because when it is your own business, it makes it that much harder to turn work mode off on the weekends or my days off. Overall, I love what I do and enjoy all of it but it’s also important to take care of yourself along the way!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Certified Spray Tan Technician with 15 years of experience. I specialize in bridal spray tans and am known as an expert within the tanning business.

I am most proud of the growth of my business, especially staying afloat throughout a pandemic.

My experience, skill and work ethic is what sets me apart from others.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My friends and family have always been my biggest supporters. My parents bought me my first machine after college and countless other friends have helped me with everything from web design to social media and beyond. But the biggest thanks has to go to my clients who are so loyal and supportive of me. Word of mouth has been huge for me running a business in my hometown.
