Meet Colt and Jagger Pallay of The Pallay Boys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colt and Jagger Pallay.

Colt and Jagger Pallay The Pallay Boys

Hi Colt and Jagger; thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I (Colt Pallay) started out playing guitar and singing right after high school. I actually got started by wanting to write a song for my girlfriend at the time. I ended up writing the song but never got to sing it to her because she ended things before I had the opportunity. It worked out for the best, though, because it helped push me to be where I am today. I was playing country and rock by myself for about a year, and the whole time, I was trying to convince my brother Jagger Pallay to pick up an instrument and join me.

Luckily there was a breakthrough when my buddy Jackson Parker whom I played high school football, decided to pick up the piano/keyboard and join me (Fun Fact: Jagger, Colt, and Jackson were all starting quarterbacks for the same high school team at different times). We together forced Jagger to pick up the bass and start playing. I (Jagger Pallay) was reluctant to pick up the bass because I was knee-deep in sports at the time, and I didn’t want to have music on my plate as well. But like you just heard, when I entered sophomore year of high school, Colt, Jackson, and my Dad forced me to pick up the Bass guitar, and I am very thankful for that because it has been the best decision I have made so far.

As far as the band goes, we would practice and put on shows for our friends in the basement when it was just us three. Eventually, we were able to play out with just us three, but the only issue was that we didn’t have a drummer. Luckily our dad’s boss knew someone around Jagger’s age who played the drums. This is where we met Alex Manson, and finally, we had a whole band.

Jagger, our dad Damon, and I (Colt) came up with the name The Pallay Boys based on our last name early on and got to writing originals as early as possible. As of now, we have four originals produced and finished waiting to be released, and many more in production. As far as our originals go, we try to mix a style of 80’s rock/pop rock with modern pop elements to get our own sound we think all generations can enjoy. Early on, we established that we wanted to have a cool and unique vibe on stage and make it as fun and high energy as possible during our shows by how we perform.

When we started playing live with the whole band, we were able to get a few gigs around the Cleveland, Ohio, area. Once we started to play and get our name around, we were able to get more gigs and play at various places in the Northeast Ohio region. We started off doing only covers that ranged from country to rock to pop. We then started to sprinkle in our original songs around the covers, and the crowd response was always great. We have also had the opportunity to play down in Nashville on the strip. We are now finishing up our shows here in Ohio before we are permanently down in Nashville in July. We have been blessed with great support up here in Ohio and are very thankful for all of the people, venues, and opportunities we have been afforded, and can’t thank everyone enough.

We look forward to the opportunity to share our music and story with the city of Nashville and beyond.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In all honesty, we have had a pretty smooth road. Besides a couple of injuries like Jagger breaking his wrist and us having to miss three months of shows, and Alex tearing his ACL and breaking his fingers, our journey has been blessed.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In addition to our musical career and aspirations. Here is a little bit about what else we do.

Colt Pallay is a recent graduate from Kent State University and is on the path to becoming a Registered Nurse.

Jagger Pallay is continuing his education at Middle Tennessee State University.

Jackson Parker is a college graduate from Kent State University and is working at Amazon as a learning/processing guide.

Alex Manson is continuing his education at Belmont University.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
We learned how important it is to be there for other people in these hard times and how helping others can make a big difference in their lives and in the community. We also learned not to take anything for granted and to enjoy each day while following our dreams.
