Hi Darrell, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began my journey in iron fabrication in 2014 as a shop helper, learning the trade from the ground up. Over the years, I gained deep hands-on knowledge and honed my skills, eventually becoming the lead fabricator and installer in 2019. As my experience grew, so did my passion for creating quality ironwork—and my desire to build something of my own that allowed flexibility to be present with my family. In 2025, that vision became a reality with the launch of Martin Metal Masters.
At Martin Metal Masters, we specialize in the custom design, fabrication, and installation of high-quality ironwork for homes and businesses throughout Middle Tennessee. Rooted in family values and driven by a commitment to craftsmanship, we take pride in every project, no matter the size. As a family-owned business, we believe strong relationships matter. Those values guide everything we do—from how we serve our customers to how we work together as a team—ensuring every piece we create is built with care, integrity, and excellence.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been smooth. Starting a new company came with real challenges—investing in equipment and materials, learning how to market our work, building a client base from the ground up, and often working 70-hour weeks to keep everything moving forward. There were seasons of uncertainty and exhaustion, but each challenge strengthened my resolve and sharpened my skills. Through perseverance, faith, and the support of my family, those struggles became the foundation that continues to shape how we work and serve today.
