Today we’d like to introduce you to Demetrea “Demi” C.
Hi Demi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Demetrea but I go by Demi! I’m originally from Long Beach, Ca partially raised in Vidalia, Ga. I am a natural hair and beauty influencer and digital content creator. I started my journey and transition to wearing my natural hair back in 2013. It wasn’t until around 2017 that I took it seriously and did research on how to maintain the overall health of my own hair. From trying different products and techniques to posting reviews with pictures and videos it brought me where I am today.
I have a huge passion for hair care and beauty and love helping others enhance themselves and boost their self confidence. I’ve helped numerous friends, family and my followers achieve their desired goals and results. At this point I consider myself a self taught expert at natural hair care and help others who look to my advice put their best hair, face and self forward!
I currently work with Luster’s Pink® brand as an influencer for their hair care products. One day I would love to have a beauty campaign or model contract in the future with one of the many companies out there.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been easy. Let me tell you! Nothing you start out on is but being as ambitious as I am I didn’t want to give up. There were countless times when I lost my motivation and struggled with my creativity to keep going, but nonetheless, persistence is key. It’s a daily struggle to be consistent but I kept at it. I found a way to balance daily life and responsibilities to be able to give myself time to work on my craft simultaneously.

I am a natural hair and beauty influencer! Specializing in all things natural hair care. I am known for my current work with Luster’s Pink® brand and have several videos, photos and reviews across my and their social media platforms.
I am most proud of the continued and positive feedback I get from my followers. It makes me feel good and with that I know I am working in my purpose. The thing that sets me apart from others is that I’ve never been afraid to wear my natural hair, for as long as I can remember I’ve worn it so proudly and boldly. Even at one point in time it was almost taboo to wear your natural hair in a place of wigs and weaves etc. which both can be beautiful don’t get me wrong! I am me.
I’m true to myself and my beliefs and that’s what strengthens my relationships between me and my followers.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Put yourself out there! Post the content ask questions from people who may be doing the same thing as you or more! Collaborate and do your research.
What has worked for me is being consistent and intentional about what it is that I do. And applying myself.
