Meet Donovan Bryant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donovan Bryant.

Hi Donovan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Donovan Bryant had always loved music. As a child, he spent countless hours listening to his favorite bands and teaching himself to play various instruments. But it wasn’t until he lost his job that he decided to pursue music as a career.

Donovan didn’t have much money to his name, but he had a motorhome and a dream. He set up his home studio in the motorhome and began recording his first album. Despite the challenges of recording in a small motorhome, Donovan managed to produce not just one, but ten pop albums. He poured his heart and soul into each one, and soon he had a small following in Lodi.

Then came the weekend gigs. Donovan would pack up and drive to nearby towns, performing at local bars, cafes, and wineries. His music resonated with people, and soon he was getting shows every weekend for an entire year. He was making a name for himself in the local music scene, but he knew he wanted more.

So he made the difficult decision to leave Lodi and move to Tennessee. It was a big risk, but Donovan felt in his heart that it was the right move. He packed up his things and set off on a cross-country journey.

Once he arrived in Tennessee, Donovan hit the ground running. He started playing gigs at local venues and meeting other musicians. He formed a band and began working on new music. It wasn’t easy, but Donovan was determined to make a name for himself in the country music capital of the world.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Donovan Bryant struggled to pursue his music career while living off the land and recording albums in a small motorhome in Lodi, California before finally deciding to move to Tennessee. Not having electricity or running water and living very small he still got out to charge his laptop and phone to make music and to find shows.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
After finishing college at the musicians institute for live performance, Donovan pursued his dream and started his career as a pop artist called Donny-D.

Donny-D’s music was catchy and fun, and he quickly gained a following in his hometown. But then, one day, his heart was shattered by a girl he thought he loved. He turned to writing more emotional and raw music, blending pop, rap, and rock, and rebranded himself as Donnydevil. Donnydevil’s music was powerful and vulnerable, and it spoke to a whole new audience.

But Donovan was not content with just being a musician. He also had a passion for producing and creating his own music videos. He poured his heart and soul into every aspect of his career, managing all three of his artists himself and constantly pushing himself to do better.

And then came the big move. Donovan decided to take his career to the next level and moved to Tennessee. He rebranded once again, this time as Donovan Bryant, and set out to conquer the country music capital of the world.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Donovan Bryant’s journey in pursuing his music career was full of risks and sacrifices. He chose not to have a job and went without electricity and other essential things to focus on writing his music. He also avoided parties, family events, and hanging out with friends to stay consistent with his craft.

Despite his dedication, getting shows was a struggle for Donovan. However, he refused to give up and drove to every winery in his hometown, giving them cards and calling and emailing them for shows. Through his persistence, he managed to book gigs and slowly build a following.

Donovan’s journey is a testament to the power of dedication and hard work in achieving one’s dreams. Despite facing obstacles and setbacks, he stayed true to his passion for music and put in the effort to make it a reality.
