Meet Dr. Robins of Body & Mind Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Robins.

Hi Dr. , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From the beginning, my interest in psychology was rooted in a desire to understand people on a deeper level. Not just behaviors or diagnoses, but the “why” behind how individuals think, feel, and function. That curiosity guided my academic path through both my master’s and doctoral training, and ultimately into clinical practice.

Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including community health systems, specialized treatment environments, and large-scale clinical institutions. These experiences exposed me to a wide range of psychological conditions and gave me a strong foundation in both clinical care and leadership.

As my career evolved, so did my perspective. I began to see more clearly that mental health could not be approached in isolation. The connection between brain, body, environment, and behavior became increasingly evident in my work.

After relocating to Middle Tennessee, I intentionally shifted toward building a practice that reflects that understanding. Today, my work focuses on integrated, whole-person care, with a strong emphasis on ADHD and related conditions. It is an area where I have seen both significant need and significant opportunity to improve how individuals are understood and supported.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a straight path, and in many ways, the challenges have been what shaped the direction of my work.

Earlier in my career, particularly within school-based settings, there were limitations around what could be diagnosed and how individuals could be supported. At the same time, the broader understanding of ADHD was still developing. There was a common belief that individuals would outgrow it, which we now know is not the case.

Being in the field during that time meant navigating a gap between what was being observed clinically and what was widely accepted. It required asking questions, staying engaged with emerging research, and being willing to challenge outdated assumptions.

Another challenge has been keeping pace with how quickly the world is changing, especially with the influence of technology on attention, behavior, and mental health.

Over time, through continued study and clinical experience, my work naturally evolved toward adult ADHD. Many individuals were being overlooked or misunderstood, and there was a clear need for more nuanced, comprehensive care. That realization ultimately became a defining focus of my practice.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Body & Mind Consulting was built with a very intentional focus, to provide one of the most comprehensive and effective approaches to ADHD care available.

ADHD is often misunderstood, underdiagnosed in certain populations, and frequently treated in a fragmented way. Our goal is to change that.

We specialize in ADHD evaluation, treatment, and ongoing support, particularly for individuals who may not have been accurately diagnosed earlier in life or who have struggled to find effective care through traditional models. Our approach goes beyond surface-level symptom management. We look at the full picture, including neurological patterns, behavioral habits, lifestyle factors, and overall wellness.

What sets us apart is the depth and precision of our process. We take the time to truly understand each individual, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution. This allows us to create strategies that are not only clinically sound, but also practical and sustainable in real life.

We are also committed to staying at the forefront of research and evolving best practices in ADHD care. As understanding of ADHD continues to grow, particularly in adults, our work continues to adapt alongside it.

From a brand perspective, I am most proud of the level of trust we have built within the community. Individuals come to us because they are looking for clarity, direction, and a more complete understanding of themselves, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The ability to meet people exactly where they are is essential to success.

In this field, it is not just about knowledge, it is about awareness. The smallest details often carry the most meaning, and being able to recognize those nuances allows for more accurate understanding and more effective care.

When individuals feel seen and understood, real progress becomes possible. That level of attentiveness and presence has been central to both my work and the success of the practice.
