Meet DummyTheKid

Today we’d like to introduce you to DummyTheKid.

Hi DummyTheKid, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been infatuated with the idea of creating. Music was just always the perfect outlet. Grew up in choir and when I got to high school I started rapping. Wasn’t until 2022 when I actually started recording and taking music more seriously. Dropping my first single ‘Beautiful Tragedy’ in 2023. Now summer of 2026 I’m getting ready to release my first album ‘Dead But Not Gone’ on August 14th. Looking back I can really see how I’ve grown both as a person and an artist.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest road blocks I’ve come across on my journey have always been mental. Self doubt is one of the hardest things to overcome in this industry. The thing I like to remind myself is to not over think it. Life can be simple if you let it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is DummyTheKid. I’m an artist just outside of Chicago affiliated with ‘77thHOUSE Productions’. And I believe im different because I’m not afraid to speak my mind. I make pop and Hip hop music meshing midwestern sounds with more urban styles and you can’t find anything like my music anywhere.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Knowing the people I know. Growing up with other Chicago artists like MADEYA and KennethWayne has really opened doors to opportunity and knowledge. Seeing how they construct a song or how they use word play in a specific way to draw more attention to a single bar. Not to mention MADEYA founded .dumbsquad clothing line and that kind of helped me find my name.
