Meet Elizabeth Thamthavong of Premier Nail Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Thamthavong.

Hi Elizabeth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, I am Elizabeth Thamthavong, I started doing nails December of 2011 at just 18 years old. I am Korean & Laotian, which is a little different than your typical Vietnamese owned nail salon owners. I was born here in Nashville, Tennessee. Fast forward, now I am 32 years old, married with 3 children, 14 years into the nail industry. I started with just an interest in the beauty industry and the fast growing trends. I attended the local cosmetology school, Georgia Career Institute here in murfreeesboro. Obtained my nail license & started working in family nail salons and growing my knowledge, education and experience of the nail industry. I have built the best relationships with my clients, starting off doing their nails from their teens to now watching them grow in their lives as well, getting married, and becoming parents. So with all of the numerous connections I’ve made, relationships built I was able to go out on my own and expand to a salon suite and be my own boss, have my own small business of my own. It was a great success, to where I outgrew a small room & limiting myself & my clients to just myself. So I decided to take the leap and open a beautiful ,open concept, nail salon here in Murfreesboro as the sole owner of Premier Nail Spa. With the new salon I was able to bring on the best team of talented ladies ranging from nail techs to lash artists to accommodate all of my clients old and new. We frequently give back to the community & love to meet new clients along the way. It has been a very special experience for me and I’m so proud of how far I have come. I believe everyone should visit Premier Nail Spa and just see how special we as a team & salon really are & how far a simple 18 year old nail tech has turned a small dream into a beautiful business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No I believe anything you want in life comes with struggle or the reward isn’t as sweet. I have struggled with a miscarriage, health issues, people promising things in personal and business and not following through. But through all the trials it has made me work harder to reach the goals I want in my life and my family’s life. I want to create a future for my children so of course it comes with its challenges, but if it’s something you want you have to keep at it with positivity. I believe that’s how I got to where I’m at now.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a locally owned and operated nail salon here in Murfreesboro, Tn. We offer all nail services as well as lash and brow services.

We have a talented team of nail artists who have a passion for their career.

We often hold pop up events that the city of Murfreesboro seems to love! We have local vendors: food, retail & beauty vendors that come out and promote their business as well that we host often. It’s a great way for Murfreesboro to connect & to see our salon as more than just a salon.

We are most proud of the connections we have made with our community and the positive impact we provide our customers and also other future nail techs looking at what they could achieve in their journey as a beauty professional.

How do you define success?
There is a thin line between success and failure and I believe the accomplishments you make with the failure you’ve gone through is the biggest success.

My success is the impact I’ve made in my life and how it’s continuing to grow everyday in a positive way.
