Meet Giovanna Salas of Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovanna Salas.

Hi Giovanna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, I remember many people telling me that I was an idealist, including my mother. She gave me the courage to challenge myself to find my path. Today I’m the CEO of a multi-media entertainment company, Heart Of Hollywood Motion Pictures. Let me tell you how it all started. I came to Los Angeles to become a film director. I wanted to share my vision of the world. I was a fine art painter when I began working in the entertainment industry. Once I discovered film, my heart was captivated. I saw the film as a blank canvas. For me, art is a way of life.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
I’m sure that it’s different for everyone. In my case, the road has been rough and full of struggles. I think what matters is how convinced you are that you are capable of achieving your goal. It takes a lot of self-discipline and auto-motivation to take action and pursue your dream career or achieve your goals. Some of my struggles have been; not being accepted, understood, or ignored by my family and them not seeing my work as serious. I guess this happens very often with people working in the entertainment industry. I believe it’s because some think becoming an actor or being a film producer is unattainable. I know now that you have to listen to your heart. You are the one that is going to face the battle of falling and getting up.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am very passionate about art, so my life and career are related. I was a fine art painter before working in the entertainment industry. I have worn different hats behind and in front of the camera. I enjoyed working as a First Assistant Director for a couple of action films. Since I became CEO of Heart Of Hollywood Motion Pictures, my responsibilities have increased in different areas. This includes the publishing of the Heart Of Hollywood Magazine. I keep busy and continue learning new things. I love what I do, and so this makes my work enjoyable.

What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I want to grow as a creative; big shifts will be happening regarding my involvement with film distribution and technology. I embrace the future and want to work with the best film producers, directors, and event producers. I am interested in continuing to continue learning about the fashion industry and its importance in our culture and business.
