Meet Griscelle and Brooks Anacker of Princess and Papa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Griscelle and Brooks Anacker.

Griscelle and Brooks Anacker

Hi Griscelle and Brooks, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our story began with love, loss, and a desire to create something meaningful. After the devastating loss of our daughter, Evangeline, we were left with a void that words can’t describe. But in the depths of that pain, we found inspiration to honor her memory in a way that reflected her light and the love we’ll always have for her.

That’s how Princess and Papa was born—a brand dedicated to creating thoughtful, matching apparel for fathers and daughters. It started as a way to celebrate the unique bond between parent and child, something we hold even closer now because of Evangeline. From the beginning, we’ve been guided by our vision to make meaningful connections, spark joy, and remind others of the preciousness of life.

The journey hasn’t been easy, but every step forward is a tribute to her. As we grow, our mission is twofold: to build a thriving brand that brings families closer and to raise awareness about pregnancy and infant loss, a topic so often silenced yet deeply significant to us.

Princess and Papa isn’t just a business; it’s a legacy for Evangeline, a symbol of resilience, and a way to create something beautiful from heartbreak. We’re honored to share our journey and hope it inspires others to cherish the moments and connections that truly matter.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting this business came from a place of deep grief, and navigating that while building something meaningful has been one of the hardest parts. Balancing the raw emotions of loss with the practical aspects of creating a business—branding, designing, marketing—has felt overwhelming at times.

One of our biggest struggles has been sharing our story openly. Pregnancy and infant loss is often a silent grief, and we’ve had to be vulnerable in ways that aren’t always easy. But being honest about our journey has also been a source of healing and connection with others who’ve walked similar paths.

Another challenge has been learning the ropes of entrepreneurship. We didn’t have all the answers starting out, and there were moments of doubt—about whether our idea would resonate, whether we could manage the workload, and whether we were ready to share such a personal part of our lives with the world.

Despite the difficulties, every step has been worth it. The support from our community, the love people show for our designs, and the ability to honor Evangeline’s memory in this way keep us going. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s led us to a place of purpose and hope.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Princess and Papa, we specialize in creating thoughtfully designed matching apparel for fathers and daughters. Our brand celebrates the unique, irreplaceable bond between parent and child, with a focus on moments that are both joyful and meaningful.

What sets us apart is the heart behind everything we do and the unique approach we take to family-focused clothing. While many brands predominantly cater to mothers, we recognize the importance of the bond between dads and their daughters—a relationship that is deeply special yet often underrepresented. Our designs celebrate this connection, promoting quality time and creating meaningful memories.

From the name and logo to the prints themselves, everything has a story and meaning behind it. A defining aspect of our brand is the creativity and care in our products. All of our prints are hand-drawn, and every design is custom-made. This ensures that each piece is truly unique and reflective of the love and intention we want to share with our customers.

We’re most proud of the way our brand has resonated with families who share our values of connection and love. Seeing fathers and daughters bond over matching outfits or hearing from customers who feel seen and understood because of our story is what keeps us going.

Beyond clothing, our mission is to spark conversations about the beauty of family bonds and to raise awareness about pregnancy and infant loss, an issue that’s deeply personal to us. We hope to create a community where families feel connected, celebrated, and supported.

For readers discovering us for the first time, know that Princess and Papa isn’t just about apparel—it’s about cherishing life’s precious moments, honoring those we’ve lost, and spreading love one matching outfit at a time.

What makes you happy?
Happiness for us comes from the little moments that remind us of what truly matters—time spent with our family, seeing our children laugh, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Building Princess and Papa has also become a shared source of joy and healing, as it allows us to honor our daughter Evangeline’s memory while making an impact on other families.

On a personal level, we find joy in being present with our sons and watching them grow up. Seeing the world through their eyes and experiencing their milestones fills our hearts with gratitude. Being their parents brings us so much happiness. Although it has been hard to find joy while navigating grief, we’ve learned that joy and grief can coexist. Our sons remind us daily to cherish life’s beauty, even in the face of loss.

We also find happiness in the connections our brand creates. Seeing fathers and daughters bond through our designs and hearing stories from families who feel seen and celebrated by Princess and Papa is incredibly fulfilling.

Ultimately, happiness for us is rooted in love, connection, and purpose. Whether through the relationships we cherish or the work we do together, those are the things that make our hearts full.
