Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Bostdorff.
Hannah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, I’m Hannah and I just moved to Nashville, TN in August. I am a food blogger and my mission is to share SIMPLE gluten-free recipes, as well as ways that I ‘harvest my health’, spiritually, physically, and mentally! I started my Instagram, @hannahharvestinghealth, at the end of my freshman year of college, as I was just about to begin a summer job. It really began from wanting accountability to help me eat in a way that was going to make me feel my best and nourish my body. I would post my lunch to my Instagram during my lunch break and catch up with other food posts on Instagram/browse food posts on Pinterest, which was the best way for me to stay inspired!
It quickly turned into something so much more than accountability and I gained so many amazing friendships, something I never expected to get out of it. When school started back in August, I posted a lot of healthy college eats and dorm-friendly recipes, which was a little tricky but a good challenge for me. The school dining hall was not the best, so I had a lot of fun with my account getting creative with simple recipes that were healthy and yummy!
My account was really growing and I was starting to experiment with baked goods instead of oatmeal with pretty toppings and simple desserts like chocolate-covered bananas. The more I baked, the more inspired I was to continue with my Instagram and it turned into my business starting in 2018 when I landed my first paid collaboration! I remember it like it was yesterday and I’m so proud of myself for sticking with it even when it got tough at times. I now have an audience of over 79,000 and they are the sweetest community! God has blessed me abundantly.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! When I first began my account I was in college, so studying and going to class while also creating content got a little tricky. I was dedicated to keeping up with it though, so I always made the time! I even started posting twice a day during a period of time because I was so passionate about it.
Recipes don’t always work out, it’s trial and error, but when they finally start coming together it’s such an amazing feeling! A journey wouldn’t be a journey without the struggles, so I’m grateful for all of it. Every experience, hard time, all the tears, are worth it because they push you to dig deeper, try harder, and become better at whatever you are doing!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a gluten-free food blogger! I create recipes to share with my Instagram audience, such as baked oatmeal, mug cakes, cookies, scones, and more. I partner with food brands to promote their products, so say an oatmeal brand reaches out and wants their oats included on my page; I will create a recipe with those oats and tell more about the product in my caption.
I only collaborate with brands that I truly love/share products that I enjoy. It’s important to me that my audience trusts me and everything that I share!
I am most proud of how simple and easy my recipes are. I find that is what most people are attracted towards and it makes sense since people’s schedules don’t always allow for large, detailed recipes! I think that is really what sets me apart.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way that people can support me is to engage with my Instagram content (like, comment, share, save the posts) and make the recipes that I share! I work with gluten-free food brands, so if a brand is interested in collaborating they can email me at hannahharvestinghealth@gmail.com or send me a direct message on Instagram at @hannahharvestinghealth.
I love working with local restaurants and hotels! I provide Instagram stories & posts centered on the services that they provide.
I will also be selling my gluten-free, dairy-free baked donuts at the Shops at Porter East market on December 5th from 11am-4pm.
