Meet Hayley Hofheinz of College Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Hofheinz.

Hi Hayley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Baking has been a part of my life since I was a young girl. I always loved being in the kitchen with my Mom, trying out different recipes. It was special one on one time with her that I will always cherish.

I have four wonderful children and I made all of their Birthday cakes when they were younger. This led to custom cake and eventually custom cookie inquiries. I lived in the custom baked goods world since 2018 and realized that as my kids were getting older, I needed to make a change. Through a lot of prayer, I decided to launch a gourmet cookie business in 2024 . Something that would allow me to grow, expand and hopefully one day scale if I wanted to. My driving force for this decision was all based on spending more time with my family, which is my number one priority.

The love I have for baking combined with my passion for community and entrepreneurship spirit led me to where I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any successful business, there is always going to be speed bumps along the way. I work alone, and have had many moments where I have taken on more than I can handle . I have pulled all nighters more than I’d like to admit. I’ve struggled with the work life balance of managing a family and running a business. Having to shift my business from custom cakes and cookies to focusing on gourmet drop cookies was a great decision, but I’m also prepared to make changes and divert if I need to.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would consider myself a cookie creator. I specialize in gourmet drop cookies, but also provide cookie cakes, gourmet logo cookies for local businesses and holiday themed cookie decorating kits. I am proud of all the little decisions and sacrifices I had to make to get me to where I am. I think my artistic background and attention to detail sets me apart. I value good presentation and I feel like I provide that through my cookies. Whether it’s a glaze drizzle or hand placing chocolate chips on the top of each cookie, I will always go the little extra to make my cookies look pleasing to they eye.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I absolutely love where I live. I feel incredibly blessed to live in a city where people are so kind. I love the small town feel I get living in College Grove. We are surrounded by wonderful neighbors, families and have built such a lovely community.
