Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Garcia.
Hi Heather, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Having long had a passion for photography and art, in 2019 I started Bee Memorable Photography in Houston, TX.
At the time my husband was a DJ and we offered combined services for weddings and events. Sadly my husband passed away last year. I moved to Tennessee to be close to my family and have started my photography business back up here in my new home!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Having to leave behind the clientele I built up back in Texas has been tough, but I look forward to meeting more of you here in Tennessee!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer that specializes in portraits and pet photography, known for styled shoots for dogs with full-blown themes. I also do travel photography that I sell via Etsy.
What makes me most proud is when someone loves their photos and tells me I’ve perfectly captured their moments.
This makes me proud because I know they will treasure these photos for years to come.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned that art can help to heal and that doing what you love is so important. When I lost my husband I didn’t pick up my camera for several months.
After starting to get back into it though the creative process really helped me find meaning and joy in my life again.
