Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Howard.
Hi Heidi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Michigan, and at 21, I packed up my courage, a couple of suitcases, and my big dreams, and headed to Southern California. It was a bold move at the time, but it became one of the most formative chapters of my life.
I started out as a professional nanny, mostly caring for multiples — which is basically a crash course in multitasking, patience, and lightning-fast problem-solving. That role eventually grew into house management, where I found myself running homes with the efficiency of a small airport. During that same season, I was also singing in a country band — because of course, when life gives you Southern California, you add music.
I fell in love with the lifestyle — the hiking, sunshine, travel, and the constant swirl of creativity. But after 15 years, my heart began pulling me toward something different. I wanted a slower pace, more nature, and to be closer to my family. Nashville checked every box: community, music, beauty, and a little more room to breathe.
At the end of 2018, I moved to Nashville with a good friend, excited for a fresh start. And then… life happened. A year in, a tornado hit our street, and shortly after, COVID changed the world. It was a wild introduction to Tennessee, but even amid all that chaos, I felt grounded. I enjoyed my house-management role, but I knew I wanted a career with more longevity — something that still let me do what I love most: helping people.
A friend suggested real estate, and the moment he said it, I knew he was right. I’ve always loved guiding people and helping them find a place that truly feels like home. At the beginning of 2024, I officially became a realtor, and it has already been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. Every client, every story, every set of keys handed over reminds me why I chose this path.
Looking back, all the twists and turns — nannying, managing homes, singing, moving across the country twice, tornadoes, pandemics — led me here. And I’m grateful every day that I get to help people find a place where their own new chapters can begin.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Throughout my journey, I’ve walked through a few challenges that really shaped who I am today. Moving from Michigan to Southern California at 21 was exciting, but it definitely wasn’t easy. I had to build a life from scratch while juggling demanding roles as a professional nanny for multiples and later a house manager. Those years taught me how to stay calm when life gets loud, how to adapt quickly, and how to care for people in a genuine, hands-on way. When I moved to Nashville in 2018 hoping for a slower pace and to be closer to family, I didn’t expect a tornado to hit my street just a year later — or for the world to shut down right after. It was a lot, but it also made me stronger and more grounded. It helped me realize I wanted a career that had longevity and still allowed me to do what I love most: help people. That clarity led me to real estate, and now those experiences allow me to support my clients with empathy, clear communication, and the steady guidance they need — whether they’re relocating, buying for the first time, or stepping into a brand-new chapter of their own.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m a Nashville-based real estate agent with The Cline Collective at Bradford Real Estate, helping people buy and sell homes all over the Middle Tennessee area. What sets me apart is the way I approach the process — with care, attention, and a genuine desire to help people feel at home. My background as a professional nanny for multiples and a house manager taught me how to stay calm in high-pressure moments, anticipate needs, and support people with thoughtful, hands-on guidance — skills I bring to every client interaction. Having moved across the country twice myself, I understand what it feels like to start fresh or relocate, which makes me especially patient and attentive with clients navigating big life transitions. I truly enjoy building meaningful connections along the way, guiding clients not just through a transaction, but through a personal journey toward a home they’ll love. For me, it’s never just about finding a house; it’s about helping people feel supported, understood, and truly at home.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who have guided, supported, and inspired me along the way. My family has always been a huge influence — their encouragement gave me the courage to take big leaps, like moving across the country and starting new chapters. Friends who have cheered me on, offered advice, or simply believed in me when I doubted myself have been invaluable. Professionally, I owe a lot to my mentor, Ashley Cline, who has taught me so much about real estate, leadership, and serving clients with care and excellence. Ultimately, my success feels like a reflection of all the incredible people who have walked alongside me, shared their wisdom, and reminded me to keep going even when it felt hard.
